Ya... it's pretty funny.... Who in their right mind would wear a felt hat and a leather jacket in the desert?

It's a cool photo. Yet more evidence of Indy's desperate, anything goes style of street fighting!

Stop squealing Pat, show a little back bone, you're an ex-wrestler! :whip:

i remember reading somewhere that speilberg said that he made the fight to be realistic as resl as some of the fights he had seen when he was in college. real down and dirty street fighting.

Holy meerkat haters. How did I not notice that Indy bit the guy's arm?

Wow, I started this thread almost three years ago!

I still find that part very funny! Its a great little moment. Indy looks like he's giving that bite everything he's got!

He must've been dying for some mouthwash after that.

If Raiders was remade, the 7' 2" Nikolai Valuev has to be cast as Pat Roach's German Mechanic...

David beat Goliath without the help of a flying wing and teeth, though. :)

Presumably that moment was meant to be funny as well as suspenseful. Visually its very funny because of a combination of things, like the expression on the mechanics face, the way Indy looks like he's giving that bite his all, the way he's so much shorter than the mechanic, the pettyness of it! :D

Many of the action scenes, including that fight, had moments that were meant to be both things at the same time. Its one of the things the series does very well.

Quite true! To include some examples...the Nazi getting hit with the periscope in the Tank Chase, Shorty's little quips in the Car Chase, and Willie's Bumbling in the Spike Room Scene.

The last two are more funny moments in between suspenseful moments, I'm taking more about moments that are actually both at the exact same time.
