In all 3 movies ar 3 beginning quests...I want to see what beginning is the best in the 3 movies...personally I like "Last Crusade", but love the beginning quest of the golden idol in "Raiders Of The Lost Ark"...so I vote "Raiders Of The Lost Ark"...

Temple of Doom had the best opening by far, even including a musical number. Indy being poisoned and trying to get the antidote was a brilliant way to start.

I really think all three are very good opening sequences. I picked the Raiders "golden idol" just because its the original, and reminds me of Indiana Jones the most.

I like the Cross of Coranado, mainly because it shows how Indy was like when he was a kid, and how he got his hat, his phobia of snakes, and his first whip experience. I also like how it starts an adventure that lasted 20+ years.

But I also like the Nurhachi Diamond scene, mainly because it blends into the rest of the movie better than the others. In Raiders, it introduces Belloq, not to mention Indy himself. In LC, it explains a lot about how he came to be who he grows up to be, and how he starts his longest adventure. But in ToD, he escapes to an airplane, then it all starts, chickensliferaftshamanbatselephantspalace and BAM!!!! right into the action.

I actually loved how through out the begining of Raiders, you didn't see Indy, untill he goes to whip that guy! man that was sweet! Always staying to the shadows, then Crack!

Also the whole adventure in the Idol cave was the sweetest! it really said "stay tuned viewers for the best damn movie ever!"

Although it's my second favourite movie of the series (after Raiders) I really didn't think much of the beginning of Crusade - they tried to cram too much back story in and it felt contrived - although River did a great job and the stuff on the circus train was fun.

Raiders and Doom both had fantastic openings, I voted for Raiders because it was the original and had Indy in a very 'Indy' environment - but Doom's beginning was so inventive, and different to Raiders in every way, it was a close call.

I never get tired of watching the opening scene in Raiders.

Crusade's was excellent.
Doom's was pure fun.

It look's like Raiders, quite rightly, is winning hands down!

Shame the rest of the movie wasn't as good as the opening scene. :(

+1
I think Crusade's opening titles were better, but Raider's quest is the best by far. Huge boulder takes the cake.

That's easy and obvious: Raiders!
It's the first movie,so the surprise and excitement is the newest and freshest here.
I love Crusade too,but it's not that mysterious.
For some reason I've always thought Temple as the black sheep of the three.
I like it too,but in a different way. I love ''anything goes''!

Ooh.. that's a toughy.
I like Raider's a whole lot, but... I don't know, I love it, but it's just not my favorite. LC is really interesting, about his history, but I had to vot ToD, because it's really classic, it blends with the movie, and it's really fun ("Oh NUTS!).

:D

As much as I like the golden idol movie, ToD was the first Indy movie I saw, so it was my first film impression of Dr. Jones.

I voted for the opening scene at the Club Obi Wan. But the unrelated adventure in Raiders is *****in' too because it captures Indy's tall, dark and handsome personality well. ;)

Oh man I'm going with "NURHACHI - LAO CHE" on this one. Just barely ahead of the Crusade opening.

The Raiders opening is a complete classic, it goes without saying that it is vintage Indy. Everything about it was perfect, and now it's even cooler knowing Doc Ock had a part in it.

I also really liked the others as well. I believe Temple's opener is an homage to James Bond, is that right?

I think it's a nod at Bond. ;)
