View Full Version : Uh, just how "close" was the relationship between Henry Sr. and Elsa Shneider? Ewww!

I just wanted to get this question out of the way, everyone remember that scene in Last Crusade where it turns out Indy and his father had a relationship with the same girl?

What is exactly implied there? Does Elsa have a thing for really old men in their seventies (Henry)   , and also likes to bed the guy's son?

ICK!

I'm sorry, I'm just so grossed out by the hidden messages and images this scene brings up in my mind. Ugh!

"Relationship"
?? There was no relationship... there was sex....

"What is exactly implied there?"
It's painfully obvious... She was a Nazi skank who used her sex to get what she wanted....

The saddest implication was that the Joneses were both just shallow pathetic men who could be easily led around by the front of their pants....

Gross? Maybe, but I'm more amused by it than anything else, which I believe was its intent.

I don't understand why Indy was so whipped by that one.

Finn

Possibly because after that, Elsa didn't feel such a conquest anymore? You know, she wasn't a scratch up to the wall after all, just an easy skank.

James Bond is a wet girls blouse.

"she wasn't a scratch up to the wall after all"
I wish I had HALF a clue what that meant....

"I'm more amused by it than anything"
There's certainly no point in trying to find any deep meaning in that movie...

Connery was in fine shape in Crusade (He was younger than Ford is now by a good 5 years - it was just the beard and bald head that made him look older) and Doody was/is hot!

I'm not saying I wanna see them get it on but the thought doesn't repulse me any more than any other couple 'doing it'.

If your turned off by the thought of this you'd better give 4 a wide birth, I'm certain we're gonna see Ford get it on with someone, who'll probably be much much younger than him...

I suspect it's a phrase that doesn't translate well to English....

Or that it's poorly translated.

"Wasn't a scratch up to the wall"?
Do you maybe mean she wasn't a "notch on the bed-post"?

Finn
03-06-2007, 12:25 PM
Some make scratches onto the wall, others notches onto the bedpost. Simple as that.

ClintonHammond
03-06-2007, 12:36 PM
Then I believe the phrase would be "a scratch ON the wall"

Or "a notch on the belt". (If you wanted a gunfighter sort of thing....)

Finn

...it is not that odd the relation of Henry with Elsa in the first place, is the same woman and a father and son...some "step mom"...

There are no hidden messages. She slept with both of them because she wanted to get closer to the diary. Most female spies use sex as a powerful tool (pun intended) to get information and most females also enjoy getting laid on the job. Elsa was smokin hot, I imagine a great porn scene with her and somehow the whip involved. Austin Powers would agree.

"She talksh in her shleep". I think that line tells us everything we need to know about Dr. Jones and Elsa's relationship.

Ah sure I'll get Sean Connery to spell it out for you: "THE NASHZI LET ME ROOT UP UP THE ARSHE, THE HIGHLAND WAY!"

With regards to Elsa fancying a 70-year man being "disgusting", we are talking about Sean Connery here.

Yes, at the time, the scene was really more of an in-joke than anything else. After all, it wasn't so much that she had slept with Indy's dad, but the fact that they were saying, "Hey, this is James Bond we're dealing with here!" :whip:

Very funny. What I mean was that Henry Jones Sr. is an attractive 162-year old, so its not disgusting that she slept with him.

Well its obvious that Grandpa Jones hopped on the good foot and did the bad thing with Miss Elsa. She didn't do it cause she was attracted to him, she did it to get closer to what she wanted. To move ahead in her quest for what was really important to her.

Indy and his father battle through bad guys and guns, while she on the other hand goes through...well you get what I mean. ;) She takes them one at a time. lol

It just sucks that Indy had his dad's leftovers.

I don't know why, okay I do but this was just perfect for this topic. Click Me (http://www.wherethehellwasi.com/categories/cars-n-drivers/grampas_gonna_hop_on_the_good.html)

I thought the insinuation was more than obvious, in fact, I'm surprised that theres any question to elsa having slept with them both at all. That's the whole point of the scene is it not? I hope she had a shower inbetween....I cant imagine anything more offputing than going down south to find daddys "SHPOOGE SHURPRISHE!"

Yeah, I'm surprised that we're actually debating this. She slept with his dad, hence the "She talksh in her shleep" remark, hence Indy and his father's exhchange of looks after the remark. Its not rocket science.

Although I admit, when I first saw the movie aged 8, it went over my head.
