Elsa deleted LC scene

On BBC1 last week there was a retrospective into the movie careers of famous Irish actresses (from Grace Kelly to Maureen O'Hara to Anjelica Huston to Samantha Mumba) and of course they mentioned Alison Doody, who achieved brief fame with Indiana Jones and James Bond. When they came to LC they showed the usual montage of classic scenes with her, except for one which was very new to me! Unfortunately the narration made it impossible the hear the dialogue (a real shame!) but the snippet went like this: In the Republic of Hatay, the German colonel opens the door of the Rolls-Royce limousine. Julian Glover comes out, putting his hat on, and then Alison Doody, putting on her gloves. The German colonel shuts the door of the car and hands out guns to Glover and Doody. Glover takes it and puts it in his pocket, but Doody declines it. Glover shrugs, and then both he and the German colonel watch her walk away. At this point the sultan comes up to them (we see him from the back) and the scene fades to black. It was very brief, but awesome. My father taped the show for me. He'll send it to me next week so I can't wait to watch it again. Just thought I'd share!!

Thanks for posting that, ElsaFan. What I find interesting is the fact that,
from your description, more of the Rolls-Royce seems to be shown. I was
always under the impression that only a mock-up of the front end was built
for the set since the entire car is not shown on screen. In the deleted scene,
does it appear to be the full thing or could it be just a stage prop?

From memory, it's definitely seen from new angles, although at no point is the car seen entirely. We see the characters stepping out of it while Vogel is holding the side door.

Oh, ElsaFan, you are going to love this...I've just discovered another
deleted scene in that '89 A.Doody interview on "Entertainment Tonight"!:D

It shows Indy'n'Elsa being closely chased by Kazim & Bros. They are all seen
running down a Venice street and begin to cross over one of the canal bridges.
It's actually a behind-the-scenes shot because (for a brief moment) you see
a blue T-shirt but it's definitely not in the finished film. This is followed by an
alternate shot of Indy and Elsa entering the tunnels beneath the library.

There are also a few "making-of" snippets of other scenes...
