Neopets, have you heard of it? Yeah well this neopet's name is Jake the Explorer, And I think they got the idea from Indy. I mean, there's one scene in his comic that looks like a scene from Indiana Jones!

I hate how basically anything "adventure" related rips off the Indy look and usually the same kind of font and coloring for the Indiana Jones logo. I saw one of those bejeweled games at Best Buy in the bargain bin and it was themed for "adventure" or jungle or whatever... and they definitely ripped off all things Indiana on the cover.
*sigh*

At a local fair I saw an "Adventure" set that had images from the Indiana Jones films painted on, and then things that never happened in the film on there as well. The walkthrough attraction though was just like a fun house, it had nothing to do with the actual Indiana Jones.

Every year I go to the local fair, they always have a ghost house called "The Temple of Doom" but it's all ghosts and zombies!

I find it laughable that people think all other adventurers who wear fedoras and leather coats are rip offs of Indy. Especially when fictional adventurers like Allen Quartermain and Harry Steele wore fedoras and jackets and were created long before Indiana Jones. These things are listed right on this site people.

Yeah but Allen Quartermain and Harry Steele aren't part of mainstream pop culture. I'd say they definitely get it from Indiana Jones. Not that that's bad. It's a testament to the character's continued popularity.

They aren't as individuals, but they are as part of an archetype, the same archetype that Indy was created in the tradition of.
