That's an awful lot of screen time for a non-speaking role.

Any verification than it vaguely looking like him? I don't mean to be contrary, but that's an entirely new piece of information for me and, it seems, everyone else.

Yeah... at first I was really impressed... then doubt started creeping in on me... I'd like very much to believe it. But.... I'm having trouble swallowing that one...

Fact is: This is NOT Harrison Ford!

I saw this before, and I thought it was proven to have not been Ford? Also, I was under the impression Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round was Ford's first on screen debut!

Well, first speaking role, definitely...I'm not sure it was ever definitively first.

I believe the Great Escape was filmed while Ford was still in college but not sure on that.
Sure looks like him.

Odds are that it isn't.

Too bad. It would have meant that not only did Ford wear a Nazi uniform in that movie, but also, Hanover Street, Force Ten From Navarrone, Raiders and Last Crusade.
He also dressed as a Stormtrooper in Star Wars (the name is taken from the German shock troopers) and wore an Imperial Uniform in Return Of The Jedi (and those were vaguely modelled after Gestapo uniforms.)
Harrison Ford would probably have the record for Nazi related costuming for an actor NOT playing a German.

At first I could see maybe....but then...Not even close...this kid looks more like Richie Cunningham than Harrison Ford.

I doubt its him! Don't you think if it was really him, this would have turned up or be mentioned before. Talk shows love to play old goofy footage of actors during their visits. Jay, Dave, or Conan would have found this and have embarrassed him.
Also the technicality of saying Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round was "only his first SPEAKING part" is fishy. Like someone knows this is wrong and is pulling a scam. This would be listed as his first screen role. Lines or not if it where really true.

I'm not sure I agree. If someone's an extra, I feel like it isn't usually counted as a role in a film.

I really don't think it's him. It looks a lot like him, but I am pretty sure it's not.

When I worked for the INS, they taught me to look for differences or similarities in someone's ears when looking at a passport photo that is in some doubt. The ears seem to be a match. Still not conclusive, though.

Yeah, the ears do look alike... I actually noticed that already. The mouth doesn't so much. If I could see a higher quality image of the scene (YouTube's compression makes it blurry)... I could probably make a better judgement.

Just giving a quick look at HF's bio -Wouldn't he still have been at Ripon College in Wisconsin during 1962-63, when "The Great Escape" would have been filmed?
So there is no way it is him!

He could have shot it during a break from college.

umm no! He was a nobody College student from the midwest. With no connections in Hollywood yet. THe only was that would have been possible is if Harrison had family connections at the studio or something. But his family was very average.
I don't know why people are giving this so much credence. Just playing Devil's Advocate? THere is no reason to think it is him. He actually look different in pictures of him at that age.
