Hey guys,
I haven't actually seen any of the Youn Indiana Jones. I'm a big fan of Indiana Jones, but never seen the Youny Indiana. Anyways what I'm confussed about it all the threads about Indy loosing an Eye? or people refuring to Young Indiana about loosing an eye?
Can someone tell me the story about this? I don't understand why Indy has to loose an Eye?!?!?! hehe sorry...

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles were told in flashback by a 90 year old Indy. He had an eyepatch. Nobody knows exactly when he 'loost' the eye.
Watch this clip, that's Old Indy at the end telling the story... Note the eyepatch.

Been a while since I've seen George Hall as Indy, but he really was bad wasn't he. Glad Lucas cut him out for the new versions.

I've never been that emotionally scarred by someone's post to have to do the Internet equivalent of stomping my foot, plugging my ears and saying "LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" but different strokes.

Haha, anyway...
Yeah, it's a bit odd to see an 80-something year old Indiana Jones. And his daughter isn't very attractive either.

That's one (small) reason why I dismiss the crap-fest that is Young Indy.... Their "glimpse" of him in the future doesn't suit his character in the least.
Nobody who lives like Indy does EVER lives to a "Ripe Old Age". They go out with a BANG!

Even so... I don't see Indy at ANY time in his life complaining about seeing his "soaps" to his daughter. I think that was supposed to be comedic relief or something. But it was just dumb.

George Lucas created it, so it is a definite part of Indy canon.

George Lucas created midichlorians too. Not every idea he has is gold.

George will never pass up the opportunity to do some revisionism on anything - if, however unlikely, Indy does die in 4... any emotion would be robbed by the fact that I know Indy lives into his 90s.
And Old Indy was awesome, you don't know what you're talking about Clint.

I don't know. I don't really view the YIJC as part of the series. I just view them as three separate characters (young Indy, middle-aged Indy, and old Indy) that really have little to do with each other. So, if Indy were to die in the film (something I doubt) I wouldn't find "solace" in the fact that in the TV series he lived to be in his 90's, because I don't view him as Indiana Jones. Not that I'm one of those people who can only envision Harrison in the role, but I just don't like the few clips I've seen of old Indy. The clips of Sean Patrick Flannery are alright, but to me he still doesn't capture the essence of the character.

I've always liked the concept of midichlorians...

Mmm, of the hundreds of things wrong with the prequels... midichlorians were one of the lesser evils.

I think SPF captured the character quite beautifully. I think the main issue is simply that he doesn't physically resemble HF as much as, say, RP did. His mannerisms and inflections, though - the stuff that actually makes up his performance - are dead-on. He studied the HF portrayal, and it shows.
George Hall's Old Indy is more different, but not in ways that seem implausible with anyone who lives long enough to see his early 90s. I saw my own grandmother change quite a bit in the last ten years of her life, for example, in ways that don't just parallel but actually exceed what we see between Harrison Ford and George Hall in their portrayals of Indy.
The show and the movies do have their own different tones and styles, and their own spins on IJ, but they're still complementary and consistent, not contradictory. Moreover, the show takes this character, who up to that point had been a perfectly realized but slightly limited action-adventure character, and extends and develops him into an even more fully-formed, fully-developed human being. It also provides a frame for the movies that lends them greater significance and resonance in a much larger character mythos than they provided on their own, great though they certainly are.
I can understand why someone who loves the movies might not care for the series, I really can, but I have to say I think it's a real shame. If one can be just a little more open to it, one can ultimately find immense reward in this series that enhances even one's appreciation of the movies as well, and makes the whole experience of being an Indiana Jones fan much, much more satisfying. Everyone's entitled to their own choices and opinions, obviously, but that anyone who professes to be an Indy fan would just write off the show and miss out on all that it offers is a little sad.

No.....giving a powerful mystical, metaphysical force shrouded in mystery a very simple scientific explanation that a 10-year old could understand was a poor decision.
