Here's another new one - not an officially licensed Indy title, but sounds interesting. You can see a picture of the cover at the link below.

Product Description
After nearly two decades, the man with the hat and bullwhip is back! Indiana Jones -- the adventurous archeologist -- dons his trademark Fedora, straps on a holstered pistol, and coils his bullwhip as he gets cracking on a new movie adventure, set against the backdrop of the Cold War, in which he fights the Soviets.
Just in time for the movie's release, pop culture chronicler George Beahm explores uncharted territory as he boldly goes where no writer has gone before in Indy's world and explores exotic ports of call worldwide, lost worlds and legendary cities, real-world film locations for the Indiana Jones films, and separates fact from fiction in the films.
Longtime fans will welcome the look back at the Indiana Jones phenomenon that includes an overview of the character, an in-depth look at each of the films, a synopsis of each installment of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, the Walt Disney experience (Indy's stunt spectacular show at Disneyworld and the themed thrill rides worldwide), how to dress like Indy, and much more!
The perfect book for the armchair traveler or the more adventurous who wants to follow in Indy's footsteps, Exploring the World of Indiana Jones will transport you to places unimagined, well off the beaten path, where danger lurks around every corner!
Intrepid chronicler George Beahm is your personal tour guide to the pulse-pounding, adventurous world of Dr. Indiana Jones.

Hello,
Just an FYI - I was on Amazon and they have a sneak peak of this book. You can look inside!
You can read the first several pages, table of contents, front and back cover. There are also a picture. Looks like it will be an interesting addition to Indy Library.

I just got this book in the mail. I haven't had a chance to read through it, but it looks more like a huge list of things Indy has done. I had thought about writing a book like this at one point in time, not exactly like this but close. I'm going to give it a read tonight. I did notice it had entries about Young Indy, the three movies, the Disney stuff and a few other things as well. Plus the end of the book has a chapter or two on archaeology. Some of the pictures were a bit blurry though, could have used someone looking at those.

I'm gonna hold off on reading this one for a while. I think it suffers since it's not officially licensed. The Indy Adventures from Disney World pictures just don't substitute for the real thing. Also, the guy seems critical of Temple. That's fine in all because we all have our opinions. I really enjoy Temple and I can understand why others wouldn't, but I don't see the need to bash it in an Indy book. Plus, other than not being officially licensed, it just looks uninteresting.

Has anyone else found the Off the Beaten Path book to be nearly a complete waste? I thought other than the pictures of Anthony Magnoli's Props, it was an "Unnecessary" Indy Book. To me, it seemed rushed. Like do we need a chapter on the breakdown of the first set of YIJC DVDs? I think most anyone who would be buying this book, probably owns the DVDs and has watched them, therefore, wouldn't really need a breakdown. And I noticed that on one page, Spielberg's first name is spelled StePHen, whereas it's spelled correctly elsewhere. There was all kinds of stuff wrong. I don't know, maybe it's me? I'd like to hear your opinions.

I've seen it. There's a lot of errors concerning Indy 4. The stand out one is constant referring of Shia's character as Matt Dutton instead of Mutt Williams.
Overall though its a good Indy companion book.

Nope, I didn't much like it either. The two unofficial books that's I've picked up so far were pretty bad. Both made me roll my eyes a lot and were very uninteresting. At least they were not all that expensive, but I'd stay away from them both.

Yeah. That cracked me up. I left that off of my "review" as I didn't want to spoil the surprise:D I also noticed that the a lot of the photos were on pages where they weren't relevant. Considering that the book was still being put together at as of at least late January/early February (because of the Vanity Fair cover being included) you figure the author could have done his fact checking a little better. And whereas this isn't the worst book if seen to come out, it certainly isn't good.

The author also mentions the "official" Lucasfilm Indy fedora as your best bet for a good hat. As opposed to Adventurebilt, Akubra, and Herbert Johnson fedoras which actually look like the real deal.

I got the book out of the library, and wasn't extremely impressed, though parts of it made for an interesting read. I also didn't like the TOD criticism (since it's my second favorite IJ film after "Raiders"). The pictures from the Disney IJ ride seemed lackluster - I would've preferred pictures from the actual films.
However, it was interesting when the author examined some of the film's events and answered whether or not they were feasible. For example, it was funny to read that it would've been physically impossible for Marion to drink that big guy under the table in the drinking contest scene from "Raiders" - ha ha. However, that did make for a great scene in the film.

There were a lot of simple mistakes that just made me question where he got his information.
There's nothing in the book I haven't seen or read somewhere else, (besides the mistakes)...glad I didn't buy it.
