Just read that on Dec. 7th at 9 P.M., John Williams will perform several of his classic film scores on the CBS special Movies Rock. Harrison Ford will present him, and apparently the reviews say it is the highlight of the show!

I don't know about a trailer, but that would be an awesome surprise if it happened! The show is about 2 hours long, and apparently is filled with performances saluting the music of movies. Williams will I'm sure perform the Raiders March, and who knows maybe there will be some mention of KotCS since Ford is presenting? I can see him performing the themes from Star Wars, Jaws, E.T., and Close Encounters of the Third Kind as well.

I had no idea Williams was going to appear. From what I've read, the event is more about paying tribute to movie songs as opposed to movie scores. I'll keep an eye out for Williams' appearance, though.
This sounds great!! Although it bites to be in Europe with
all the TV hype starting. Please, somebody, record it.

A few months before “Empire” came out, J.Williams premiered
“The Imperial March” during his stint as conductor for the
Boston Pops Orchestra (televised weekly on PBS). R2 & 3PO
made a surprise appearance with 3PO conducting the main theme
from “Star Wars” while R2 danced around. Saw it in the day
and have it on tape.

I'm really confused right now! KotCS hits theaters in 5 1/2 months, and Williams played the themes from Star wars, Jaws, and E.T.... but no Raiders March? I don't get it? That was the one I was waiting for, especially since Ford came out to present Williams. Bizarre!

Sarah, I recorded it on my DVR and just rewatched it to find out they did play the Raiders March for a split second when Harrison Ford walked out on stage. I guess they thought that was enough, but it still sucks in my opinion, because all the other films got music conducted by Williams with a video montage as well! I was definitely expecting to see the scene of Indy running from the boulder with the Raiders March accompanying. It was weird as well because Williams conducted music from scores that weren't his like Casablanca and Pyscho? I thought he would have strictly done music from his own films like Raiders, Jaws, E.T., Close Encounters, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Munich, Saving Private Ryan, Memoirs of Geisha, Superman, etc...

They played the Raiders March as Harrison came out. No point in playing it twice.

Sorry Sarah, I erased it after I watched it! The show in general was a letdown, but the biggest of all was Williams' performance. I really was hoping for a tribute to his music with an accompanying video montage. Instead he threw in a few of his own mixed with other scores.
Spiralout, I see what you're saying... but I think if they performed a series of his own scores with the video montage accompanying each film, they could have definitely done the Raiders March again! It would have been cool if they had picked an Indy song from each film, and briefly played a little bit of them transitioning one into the next. This way they could have played more music from all of his biggest hit films, ie. the Raiders March, Indy and Marion love theme, ToD Slave Children Theme, LC Grail Theme, Star Wars Theme, The Imperial March, Yoda's Theme, Jaws theme, etc...Sorry if I botched some of those titles, I'm not 100% sure of a lot of them.
