For me that's a tough one, I'm tied between the mine cart chase and the Tank sequence. I think I'll go with the Mine cart chase in TOD:up:

I really liked the mine car scene too, but I also like the truck scene in RAIDERS.

The truck chase is the best action scene in the entire series IMO.

I belive that the truck jacking of the Nazi motor cade is the pretty much the end all action sequence in film history.

Gonna have to go with the truck chase. It's the most memorable to me. The mine car chase is pretty close. I can remember riding on the front of a shopping cart and spouting Indy quotes.

The truck chase. It's pretty simple compared to TOD and LC or any modern action blockbuster, but its simplicity adds to its realism, and of course makes it THE classic action sequence. It's so exhilarating that by the time it's over, I'm literally on the edge of my seat gasping for air. By the time it is over and the second verse of the Raiders march kicks in, you're like "Hell yeah!" :whip:

Truck chase was the best chase sequence ever made

I think the truck chase from RAIDERS is my all-time favorite action sequence.

Followed by the tank battle and then the mine car chase.

I think the truck chase is the best of the three signature action scenes of the trilogy, followed by the mine cart chase, then the truck chase.

The truck chase simply set the standard. Its inventiveness and how it bordered on reality set the bar pretty high.

Truck Chase = best action sequence of all time.

2nd favorite is the Tank chase scene, since I always loved tanks. I also like the entire musical score to the tank chase sequence, it carries the action very nicely. Close call with the mine cart chase.

I know its not the signature action scene in Raiders, but I'm very fond of the German mechanic fight. The way its so intense, exhilarating, and funny all in one.

Truck chase-it's classic, but I do like how the mine cart ends with Indy screaming for water, then water come rushing down the tunnel

Indy under the truck. Priceless.

Gotta go with the truck. Indy climbing aboard, throwing out the drivers, fending off Gobler and his machine gunner, then dealing with all the soldiers riding in back, etc. It also contains possibly the best "gorge out of nowhere" death scene ever. :D

I enjoy the tank business, though, mostly for the music, esp. the part where Vogel pops the hatch and comes out coughing, then looks back and notices Indy coming up behind them. The part of the music right there just makes the whole sequence for me.

Desert Chase in Raiders for me; as others have said, it's simple, realistic and exhilarating .

Eight minutes of some of the best music in the movie, too. If I remember correctly there is no dialog in the scene: it relies entirely on the music and visuals. John Williams handles it brilliantly.:hat:

Has to be the Truck Chase for me. Fantastic work on both horse, motorbike, car and truck.

Plus plenty of pounding action in, on and under the truck which never stops for breath!

And when Indy and the Nai share a laugh before Indy pummels him out...priceless!

Maybe not a full-on action sequence, but the Raven Bar free-for-all is great fun.

Tell you what, in the Raiders novel, you ain't half cheated from the truck chase, it's over in about 1 page!

I was looking forward to reliving that on paper!

I do obviously love all three of the scenes mentioned above... but to me the mine cart chase in "Temple of Doom" is far superior to the other two. It's totally thrilling, incredibly fast paced and the scenography is absolutely fantastic!!
I think Spielberg has outdid himself with the direction of that scene. The shots are perfect, they let the action flow so smoothly that you simply can't get captured... and they also (excellently) manage to give extra size to the spectacular scenery surrounding the mine carts!!!

Regarding the truck chase in "Raiders"... I don't like it as much as the others... the stunts are epic and there are a couple of brilliant brainwaves (when Indy and the german soldier share a smile after they crashed into that sort of building site... and then Indy just punches the soldier in the face... :D LOL... total genius!!) but the general impression is that the scene runs TOO SLOW... don't know, it can't impress me very much... but great music, that's for sure!! ;)

The truck chase now has a reputation it can't quite emulate, but the mine-car rollercoaster is brilliant and brilliantly crazy. Indy's response to "Water! Water!" is inspired comic gold.

Truck - no question about it.

Indy draws to a stop at the top of the ridge, looks at the convoy below, a look of determination and wee bit of concern on his face and then jusy goes "**** it!" and gets in about it.

It's a close one between the mine cart chase and the truck scene. In the truck scene, I believe that there was a Nazi who said "Schiza!" That is always a good laugh. But I'll give my vote to the mine cart scene since it could use my vote.

I love the truck sequence.

I don't mind the mine car sequence, but its full of too many goofy gags and plays off of too many special effect model sots. I like Indy to stick with pure stunt action.

I absolutely love the tank sequence. The stunt of vic jumping on the tank alone is far more jaw dropping than anything the mine car chase produced.

Its a close one between the truck chase and the tank chase, i'll go with the tank chase.
