Obviously the four films, and the Young Chronicles too since Indy clearly references them in this film. But I know that there are various Bantam Books, Dark Horse Comics, and video games - most of which were either approved or commissioned by Lucas. Plus, Indy semi-references the Bantam books in Crystal Skull when he says he might returned to a teaching position in England, where he first taught according to the novel series. So in the official world of Indiana Jones, what counts? Does anyone have a definitive list?

I'd like to know this too. I know Lucas has an Indy canon database called Indycron but it isn't accessible to the public. I guess the canon is what you want it to be. For me, canon is:
-The 4 movies
-The TV series
-Further Adventures comics
-Dark Horse comics
-Emperor's Tomb, Infernal Machine, the upcoming Indy game and Fate of Atlantis ,which has a character that appeared in the comics.
I haven't read the books/novels so I don't know if they're canon.

I think the Bantam novels are considered canon, but the German novels aren't. Is this correct?

Nah, they probably contradict everything that Indy did to the Nazis.

Although the link leads to a wiki site, the info is officially from Lucasfilm. So that is Lucasfilm's official canon. http://indianajones.wikia.com/wiki/Indycron
Also, the German novels are canon. http://forums.starwars.com/thread.jspa?threadID=261663&start=15

KOTCS is not part of the Indy cannon. It's an alternate universe movie.

Doesn't Kingdom of the Crystal Skull conflict with the Crystal Skull references in the books? They were a big deal to Indy in the books, but in the movie he acts like he's just seen one in a British museum and wasn't impressed.
Don't the Marvel Comics storylines involving Marion also conflict with the fourth movie?

All the comics she appears in take place in 1936, which means Indy could have left her in 1937 or 1938 before Crusade so it doesn't conflict with the 4th movie.

I never really saw that as conflicting the McCoy novels. Though I would have loved a reference if that in the movie, not mentioning it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I figure that if something doesn't directly contradict the movies then it's canon. Michael24 said it right in another thread. I always figured that Indy canon was the same as Star Wars canon, the way Steve Sansweet described it: "Basically, everything's canon, unless George Lucas says otherwise in the context of the movies." :)
Lucasfilm does have the same canon policy for Indy as it does Star Wars.

YIJC has always been canon, because it was created and executive produced by George Lucas, who also wrote the stories for most episodes.

YIJC says: "Welcome to the club, KOTCS."

KotCS confirms Indy spent time looking for the skull. The implication was that it was with Ox, but it doesn't necessarily override the McCoy novels.

Incorrect you are sir. It is very cannon. More cannon than the crappy TV show. I think you are an alternative universe, buddy.

I'd like to think YIJC is canon, only with River Pheonix as a more badass young Indy inhabiting the same storylines. And better scripts.

* sigh* I remember when it was simple... when only the movies were canon.

You mean before 1992? ;) :D
So, I'm curious. I just got the Lost Journal of Indiana Jones and there are pages torn out from 1933 to 1935, basically missing out on McCoy's novels. I've really only ever followed the movies and, very recently, the TV show (I'm also familiar with the three games). Why was this time period omitted?
