Back in the '80s, MTV. In the early-90s, it started sucking and I switched to VH1. Nowadays, I hardly ever watch either one, though occasionally MTV still manages a good documentary, like Heavy: The Story of Metal. I'd love to watch VH1 I Love The... series, but the commentators are so bleeding annoying I can't stand them.
VH1.
MTV isn't really a music network anymore.
Which raises the question,
Flavah Flav or Bam Margera??

Got my vote for neither.
Goddamn horrid programming all around.

VH1 Classic! Plays all of the classic stuff I love, without crappy reality shows like MTV and VH1. It has sweet concerts from back in the day, as well as 2 hour-long blocks of older music videos without annoying pre-teens giving shout-outs in the middle of them.

its about taste.
if ur lookin for a fairly wide range of video clips in quite a few music genres then go for Vh1
if ur lookin for completely tasteless and mindless drivel about washed up celebrities and clearly unreal reality shows then go for MTV:down:

Actually, VH1 also has mindless drivel about washed up "celebrities". They call it "Celebreality".
And, I would love to meet the idiot who comes up with those "reality" shows on MTV. Their only good show is "Made", and it's not even on much anymore.
Both disgust me to no end!
I can't even channel flip past MTV anymore without wanting to cringe. So I now skip it altogether.
I came home last week from working overtime to find my wife watching an episode of A Shot At (Of) Love or whatever it's called. You would have thought I caught her cheating on me.
Me: What are you doing?!
Wife: I'm, uh, eh I'm just watching A Shot At Love.
Me: How could you?! It's like I don't even know you anymore! I'm at work trying to make some extra money, and you're here doing this? How could you stoop to that level?!
...or at least it went something like that. :D

Neither.
I mostly watch Discovery Channel, The History Channel, Nick @ Nite, or TVLand.
I'm boring, no?
My wife watched some crap on CMT called "Can You Duet?"...Blarph!
Actually, L_D, the Discovery and History chanels are fascinating.
I don't watch much TV but if I do it's likely to be those (or Comedy Centeral).
Besides, people who don't sit and watch the tube all day tend to be the interesting ones...

I enjoy the "I Love The..." series, although they' gone a little overboard with "I Love the New Millenium." Umm...it's 2008...a little soon to be reminiscing.
