What do you think is the grossest moment in the Indy movies?

Excellent thread, Short Rounded!

Hard to say.

Toht's face melting is gorier, but its much less shocking than the heart sacrifice.

I have so many favorites! I'm gonna go with the sacrifice though. It is one of the darkest scenes in movie history and gross too. Temple of Doom is a movie that literally rips your heart out.

kinda looks like she exploded. but belloq is most deffidently exploding! I have a concept sketch of Spalko disintegrating but the artist who drew it labeled it "melting". Toht melts...

There's 2 parts in the Indy films that really get me that I doubt a lot of fans have named....

The first is the opening of ToD in Club Obi Wan when Indy whips the drum cymbal and it hits the thug right in the teeth. I just can't help but think of the aftermath of blood and teeth sprawled everywhere. Yuck.

The second one may be odd to some of you. But it's from KOTCS when Indy and Dovchenko fist fight in the middle of the ants. His demise doesn't get me at all it's actually the punches that lead up to it. Its when Indy really starts hammering Dovchenko in the face and the sound effects are just brutal. It's like you literally hear Indy keep pummeling crushed bone. And then Dovchenko dribbles out the blood. Ew. Next time you watch it, listen to see if you get what I'm saying.

Does anyone agree? Or at least get why that would erk me?

Toht's never bothered me...he had it coming so it FELT justified. It was just as nasty as he was...par for the course if you will.

The Sacrifice was the worst, you know nothing of the victim, maybe he was the clumsy custodian/blood mopper-upper. But the way it was filmed, (speed), the un-natural lack of blood, the way he dug his hand in there without a ribspreader and took it out whole, the way the guy didn't die for the better part of a minute and last but not least the way the wound sealed itself up...(shudders), CREEPY! I'm just thinking AHHH! How is that possible!

Spalco's "death", if that's what it was, was like much of the rest of the flick, anticlimactic. I didn't feel invested in her character and the acting enough to care.

I hear you on the cymbal, but I noticed something in the Dovchenko fight that just makes me laugh now. Look at Harrisons mouth when he's hitting him and you'll catch him making his own sound effects as though they used a rehearsal or blocking take. It's pretty funny watching Indy go BAM BAM BAM, and they left the audio in!

Now, back to the Sacrifice victim...if he WAS the clumsy Jar Jar type, THAT might change my outlook. Hmmm, going to imagine Jar Jar getting a transplant, bye!

I will tell what what I think is the grossest.
The guy who pulls the knife put on Marion right before she knocks him out with the frying pan. His damn rotten, crooked teeth is the most disgusting thing in all four movies.

Agreed, those punch sound effects were the most brutal of all four movies!

Also you can hear a crunching sound effect when Dovchenko pulls Indy off the ground by his ear!

Im sorry Rocket Surgeon but I highly disagree, those are sounds of pain. He's struggleing to breath. You try to brake free of Russian captives, dodge gun fire and nealy go over a cliff then enter a brutal fist fight with a titan of a soldier around flesh eating ants, all in one day!:gun:
