If any of you fellow Ravenites happen to be in the vicinity of San Francisco during the first weekend of October, you should stop by the 3rd Annual Pacific Pinball Expo (http://pacificpinball.org)! Not only will there be some three-hundred pins to bump, flip, and tilt your way to Pinball Wizard on, but it will be the debut of the Metallica pinball machine (http://pacificpinball.org/post.php?post=332)! This quite possibly could be its only public showing ever!

Pretty cool. My friend will love this. He's a disgustingly HUGE Metallica fan. He took me to see them back in January and though I'm not a huge fan(I only have 2 or 3 of their CD's and really haven't listened to them since High School) I must say they put on an amazing show and ROCKED. Thanks for sharing this.

I'm a big Metallica fan (their earlier stuff mostly). I like the first picture with James Hatfield playing the game.
Thanks for sharing this!

...from ten straight hours of pinball, and let me just say that this is one of the best sounding pins ever; when you press the start button, you're greeted with raucous cheering through which you can hear Hetfield's voice "Oh, you want some more? You know we're just getting started, right?" After that, they launch into an absolutely monster guitar solo... that I don't quite recognize. I think it's from "Battery", but don't quote me on that.

Pictures to follow, and maybe a video so you can hear it.

Here's a couple more snaps from the Pinball Expo. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to do a video, but you can see one here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G32V_PD1hM&feature=player_embedded). Sound & FX are awesome! There's also a longer video that's similar to mine here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZCScl_YzFs).
