Glee? Maybe your the colorful one?

I embrace the "colourful life" and like just like the steelworkers of America I will "Keep reaching for that rainbow!"

Yes, I am gay but so is my wife!:D

You raised a good point. Your have quite an intuition for gay matters.

Is Glee exclusively gay? I don't think so.

Mercy. If Glee does not improve and isn't as half the fun as the Western "Laredo", especially the episode with the dorky English men pretending to be a Pastor and what not, then I won't continue to watch it.

Redeemed why don't you pick something from this century to watch? I mean I love Gunsmoke and Have Gun Will Travel but I watch modern day shows to

I don't remember too much singing and dancing in either of those shows.

Therefore, I will kindly ask you gentleman to take this somewhere else as we don't take kindly to folks that spoil our Glee!:D

Otherwise, don't make we walk across town and get me a moderator.

What is this Glee show?

And more importantly, how was it able to beat LOST every week this season in ratings?

Truth be told, I agree with you Ska.

Seriously, I can't see how in the blazing sun Glee could get better ratings than LOST. However, I have nothing against Glee fans but I'd pick SyFy/BBC Merlin or History Channel's Cities of the Underworld anytime over Glee.

BTW Nurachi1991 I watch contempory TV shows and movies. You should know I enjoy Smallville (before it went south), Pirates of the Caribbean, Bleach, Heroman, Star Wars TCW, Star Trek TOS, Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek TNG, Star Trek Enterprise, all things Histroy Channel, Food Network's Unwrapped and Rachel Ray, Walking With Dinosaurs, Prehistoric Planet and the list goes on and on. Still I enjoy the classic more than anything; especially the old westerns.

Anyway lets get back on topic. This thread is about Glee and not how "The West Was Won".

Bleach blows...

Merlin is coom. RC wins 100 XP for liking Merlin.

On topic.
What is Glee? Do I really wanna know? Is it bad or good? I heard mixed things about Glee.

What is Glee? It goes against contemporary TV drama conventions that cleverly cuts all of that with a profound comedic darkness, a serious level of sarcasm with an eye towards the depiction of real human emotions.

It has heart, passion and Sue Slyvester. A true light in a medium focused on darkness.

Everyone loves to sing. Prehaps you'd like to join in.:D

You're saying that it is deceptively dark, then? (I'm not quite parsing what you're saying.) Because that's an account of the show that I've heard that I do find attractive, that it's about relatively sad, pathetic people making do as best they can...although I'd wager that Community probably accomplishes that sort of theme better, because it doesn't need to focus on getting the musical section (which is so much of the craze of Glee) right.

Utilmately, as with most media, you take your own perspective based on your own knowledge and experience. Glee is quite sophicated on it's layering and can be enjoyed on many levels.

Like the 60s Batman, who knew as young children it was high camp rather than dearing do adventure or Alien, that has both a sexual and class subtext as well as being a monster in the house b movie.

And just for good measure 80s fab pop trio Bannararama sing a long tune "Robert DeNiro's waiting.." is actually a song about rape.

Glee is intelligent, well done television that can either make you cry or laugh out loud on many different levels

Failing that you can just enjoy a good sing-a-along.

Yes, both yourself and Nurhachi1991 are so right, it's like they went to the cinema and saw High School musical and just ripped it off.

It can't be more than that?

It's just the same as the Waterboys song "Whole of the Moon".

In the song they look at the moon. One saw a cresent and the other saw the whole of the moon.

They must have had a lovely time looking at the moon. I hope they had some sandwiches.

in my opinion you can never replace originals of songs, normally the remakes are pretty lame

like: the scissor sisters made a horrible techno remix of comfortably numb
and : Madonna did a very short pop version of American pie

but sometimes remakes can be good like :

fun fun fun by the beach boys, was also done with the status quo
and :
i cant help falling in love by Elvis Presley was also made into an amazing version by Andrea Bochelli

:whip: it just depends on what style its been turned into

Glee makes you want to sing, singing is good especially covers.

Today I've been mostly singing "say hello, wave goodbye" in the style of Mark Almond and boy, do I feel good.

Anyone else sing - even if it's Anything Goes in Mandarin. I know I do.:D
