Hey folks. I have been a long time fan not only of Indiana Jones, but of John Williams also. In case you do not know who he is he scored the music for all 3 Indy Films. If I insulted any of Im sorry.

Anyway when I heard that the music was going to be full orchestra I was stoked and now that Im more than half way through the game i can say that I am really happy with the music in the game.

Not only does the composer make good use of William's Raider's March. (His mastery of how he uses it is amazing,It is played softly and atmosphereily as you make your way through levels and it is used geniously in numerous action cues)but he also has written other themes as well.

At the moment I count 3 different themes besides the Raider's March.

The Nazi Theme- Yea thats right another Nazi Theme. In the long history of Indiana Jones there have been numerous Nazi Themes. There was the Nazi Theme from Raider's and there was the Nazi Theme from Last Crusade and there was a Nazi Theme from Fate of Atlantis. This new theme is great and holds it's own in the long list of Nazi Themes.

You can hear it many times throught the game and cinematics. It is played subtly when we first meet Von Beck in Cylon and then later on when Von Beck returns after you beat the Nazi Monster. It is played many times in small 5 second cinematics where Nazi theats are seen they come down stairs or through doors. It is also played softly and atmosphereily as you make your way through levels and it is also played full blast in intense fighting sequences.

Mei Ying Theme- This theme reperesents the character of Mei Ying is first introduced in the opening cinematic to Hong Kong. It is played also prominently as you fight your way through The Club to rescue Mei Ying and many times after that in the game. This theme is very oriental sounding. it reminds me of the music Goldsmith wrote for Mulan.it is a beautifull theme, sweeping and Romantic. It is the residential Love theme of the Game.

Black Dragon Triad Theme- This Theme is first played when you are fighting your way through The club in Hong Kong to rescue Mei Ying. It is intermixed in the same action cue where we hear the Mei Ying theme . This theme is also very oriental, but it sounds menacing and mysterious. This theme is also palyed prominently in the Map/Redline cinematic when your going to Pei Ling Islands with Woo Han on his boat and also as you make your way through the Black Dragon Triad Fortress.

Anyway thats all. I would love to hear coments on the Music from you folks.

I love the in-game music as well! In Instanbul, great music. The action interactive music, awesome. Ahh I can't name it all, i just love it. Screams out for a soundtrack really.

Yea the Instanbul music is great. The action cues on that level are great it. All the music in this stage has that Middle Eastern flavor to it. I love how the music is appropriate to the location your in. In Instanbul it's sounds Middle Eastern In Hong Kong it sounds Oriental.

I really want a score CD Release.

Yes, this game rivals Fate of Atlantis for the best Indiana Jones game score, and that is quite a feat. I can't think of anything offhand, however, so...this is Attila the Professor, signing off.

I've just got the game and even though I haven't even installed it yet, I have already scanned the data*.cab files on both CDs for any interesting data - and I've extracted 137 MP3s which I intend to investigate, of course. ;))

Once I figure the proper order of the files, and eliminate any unnecessary duplicate occurrences of the same themes, I will certainly make my own ET soundtrack out of those files, just as I do with all games whose scores I like (My treasure, "Alice", took 3 CDs :)). It will happily join my "Infernal Machine" soundtrack. :D

In fact, I will probably try to deal with the ET score before completing the work on "Mafia" and "IGI 2" scores which I've been making into standalone CDA versions, too :)

Grrr... and may I add something that I didn't even notice earlier, since such a sick idea never even came to me - some moron, who should be killed with cattle prods, decided to encode all music in the game as 22 kHz / 96 kbps MP3s!!!

It's somewhat off topic, but I got messages asking about the "Infernal Machine" soundtrack, so I might as well explain it in one post :) - the soundtrack was not released anywhere, I made it on my own. I used to share it some time ago on a P2P program 'Filetopia', in channels #MovieMusic and #VideoGameMusic, but stopped after the (few) interested people got it from me. I always have a 12 MB IM suite shared whenever I go to Filetopia, though :)

If you want, you can see the covers for the soundtrack here - http://vess.20megsfree.com (front, inlay - with full track listing - and back)

Well, if I remember correctly, it's well over 100 MB in size...

They were wave files or something?

JerryKing

25 MP3 files. Of course they were all in 320 kbps, true stereo, and compressed with LAME 3.9, set to quality optimization.

I'd love to have them! :)

JerryKing

Well, once I free some space, I can make them available on Filetopia once again (now I'm sharing Indy & The Temple of the Forbidden Eye there :)) - you could come in there... I am firewalled, however - if so are you, it's The End - connection between two firewalls will be impossible.

If more Indyites happened to be interested in it, though, it would probably be better if I could upload them to a big fast site like Mixnmojo, which could permanently store them and make them available at any time, regardless of the time zone... (though in fact, some time ago I tried mailing the IM suite to MNM, but it was too big and bounced back :\)

Hey just thought I'd put up a thumbs-up for these two awesome games I'm playing on PC too. If there is a way to copy or somehow extract the music for my own personal use (I dearly love listening to such great music, especially when they can fool me into thinking that it's strictly John Williams). If at all possible my friends and fellow dedicated fans, please post something about this or email me at efaith@frontiernet.net Thank God I'll have a new job soon and plan on collecting more Indiana Jones stuff wherever I can find it. LucasArts RULES!!! Eric1975

If anyone can post the music from the other indy games (the soundtracks from indy cd covers site) that would be awsome!

Yeah, anyone out there, pleeeeaaase, c'mon guys it's Christmas. I promise to only use the soundtracks for personal use. I happened to see a gentleman who is an artist that is lucky enough to work for Mr. Lucas' company in an issue of the Star Wars magazine and he had the soundtrack of the Indiana Jones trilogy,(jealousy, on my part would be a profound understatement), I can't find those soundtracks anywhere in the area where I live. I cracked up laughing when I saw the pics of him. I was hoping I wasn't the only artist who draws listening to movie soundtracks, shows how much of a geek I really am, LOL. Anyway, have a great holiday season everybody. And pleeeaaase someone post a link for the rest of the soundtrack files, I'm sure the force as well as fortune and glory will forever be with you. . .

Alright! Thanks for the link, I sure do appreciate that. I just beat the game last night and I think I'm going to go through it once more to get all the artifacts. The problem is, how exactly do you get to the Dragon's Heart when Marshall Kai is seeing stars and chirping birds? Do you take the Heart, then hit him, or do you hit him and try your hardest to get it before the cutscene? Anway, if you can tell me how to set a link up on here, I have a drawing of the Tutankhaman mask that I would like to make available to you for your generosity, it's a jpeg image, so if you tell me a place I can send it, it's your's and you are welcome to alter it or do anything you want to it. Viva Indiana Jones, Lucasarts, and pleeaase. . . make some more great adventures using that awesome Emperor's Tomb engine, I never get bored of it. Sincerely Eric1975

I have this game on Xbox, so this may not apply to you folks. It seems you are all playing the PC version.
The soundtrack gets weird at certain points of the game.
It starts to get "warbly", and the volume drops in and out.
Anyone else experience this? It has done this since it was new, and it doesn't do it on any of my other Xbox games.
