Classic Emperor's Tomb moments...

I was nearing the end of the 'Gates of Neptune' level in Istanbul and I was beating the crap out of the two guards. I'd just knocked one unconcious when the other literally dropped a stick grenade at our feet. I panicked and ran, jumping off the nearby ledge as the grenade went off killing the guard. I caught the other side with my fingertips, unharmed.

It was pure movie stuff and completely unintentional in the sense that it wasn't scripted. It just added to what is proving to be an absolutely magical game.

Anyone else got an unintentional classic moment from Emperor's Tomb or any other Indy game for that matter?

I was in the begining levels. I had the shotgun out but was out of shells. Two thugs were on either side of Indy, one in front and one behind. When the two thugs got close enough I hit the right mouse button. Indy used the shotgun to hit the thugs. The one in front was hit with the end of the shotgun to the face. Then the one behind was hit in the face with the butt of the gun. Both thugs were knocked out after those hits. Came as a complete suprise and incredable shock to see that in a PC Game.

My favorite moment so far was a sort of rigged moment during the U-Boat pen/gondola station level. I come into an office with a large window, and there's a german officer standing at the window, looking out. I grabbed him, put him in a headlock, punched him in the face repeatedly, and then threw him through the window.

Classic Indy moment.

That's actually happened several times -- I've thrown people over cliffs, through windows, over railings, through tables, and into piles of boxes.

I also have a love/hate relationship with the auto-pick-up feature. I've broken a spear over someone's head, and then picked up his crossbow and shot him twice with it.

I love this game.

Oh yeah, so far the game's been packed with these kinds of awesome moments. My favourite area is probably Prague and it's packed with movie-like things, with the escape scenes etc.

Specifically, I loved swinging through the stained glass window on the chain, then pounding the living daylights out of the Nazi stooge as I landed in the room. Also, when you open the door and there's a Nazi casually smoking on the balcony, and you can hurl a bottle at him or break a chair over his head, and he tumbles over the precipice screaming. Just wonderful...

Oh yeah, the ability to knock your opponents' weapons from their hands is a really nice touch. There's something satisfying about punching a goon spark out, causing him to drop his gun at your feet, picking it up and then shooting him with it as he gets up. Class!

I've had two really good ones. One was in Istanbul. A guy threw a gernade right at my forhead. It was the first time I had seen a gernade in the game. I picked it up and threw it right back into the balcony that the guy was in and it exploded right as it landed. Another time I was dealing with the big croc and trying to get that one artifact. I didn't know about the whole gate thing so I was playing with him in the water the whole time. I had pulled the last lever and as I was working my way to the middle island, the stupid thing ate me. I did this with a bunch of people in my dorm hall watching and they all started laughing out loud. It was classic.

I have a good one, let me tell it as if it was a story:

last level in Ceylon, with the HUGE Alligator

I had played this one a few times, and I decided to have fun for this next go..... I ran at full speed. In front of me, the gator sprang out of the water, destroying the bridge on the far side.

As it belly flopped, I jumped ouver it and swam as fast as I could towards the center island.

It gained in speed, dramatically, it shot past me, turned, and SLAMMED it's jaws down, inches in front of me

I skipped past, it was still right on my tail.....almost.....GOT IT! I climmed up just as the alligator's head poked out of the water, inches behind me














there was another part in ceylon, lone of the first 2 or 3 levels, you are suppose to swim to the other side of the water, clim onto some stone, climb up a foot or 2, then walk around the path and jump over the water to another ledge thing, then jump up over a few feet of water to another ledge, then jump and grab a vine, swing to another ledge, on this ledge, a guard roamed

so I jump into the water, climb up and go to where you make the first jump, miss....in all, I must have missed this one 10 times! then the jump up, probubly missed it a few times

I go to where I'm suppose to jump for the vine, but the guard, currently on another ledge, sees me

I leap and grab the vine, swinging across, I make it to the ledge. I race through the room to the ledge he is on, but he holds a shotgun!

I start punching him, trying to knock him off the ledge, but soon, I am closer to the edge and.........BAM! he fires a round into me and I go flying off the ledge into.......you guessed it! the WATER! and I had to do it all over again! :D








another....prague: the courtyard 2

when the 3 machine gunner rush in, the first try I just got slaughtered but their bullets

next try...I rush in with my machine gun

I spray the bullets into them, but they do the same to me

eventually I take 1 down, but they knock the gun out of my hands, as I do them.....

I am literaly on 0.0000000000000001 health, 1 hit and I'm dead

and swing at one....he's out for the count

the other one had a way to go....I punch and jab constantly until....WHAM! I send him to indy joneses, er uh....davie joneses locker room :D it was smashing ;)

Firstly, when my husband was playing the Istanbul level which has a water fountain, Indy got killed by Nazis, and instead of dying, he refilled his water canteen over and over again when the level was fading out. It was really funny to watch.

Another part which made me laugh is the first level in Istanbul. I was replaying the level just for something to do,and above the table where you get your MP40 I tried to kill the assassin and I died. Indy landed on his back, and his Fedora covered his face, almost as if he was taking a nap (Temple of Doom style)

Also, in Ceylon, when I redid the level where you walk on the bridge which breaks, there were no bad guys. They'd all kinda...disappeared. :D

Once I complete the game and review all my screen captures, I'll be posting some 'classic' moments. (I'll even post some of the screen shots, too. :) )

I've had a few, though, like those who mentioned having a grenade thrown at you. I've done the same as far as running as fast as I could away from the explosion.

In the first Prage level, i grabbed the 3rd guy, punched him once and throw him off the ledge... but he got up.. the git.. and started running.. as he was running i got my luager out, and shot him once, clean in the back and he went flying landing on his belly. I found it hilarious...

Terror At 2000 ft
At the beginning of the level before i jumped to the other gondola, i shot the first nazi (the blonde one) then i grabbed the other one with my whip, and pulled him over to my gondola.. he was hanging on the edge, as he climbed up i kicked him in the face. ... oh i enjoyed that...

The 2nd Istanbul level, where you slide down the slope and round the corner.. there are 2 nazi's standing on the balcony thing... i just walk up to thme as quitly as posssible.. grab him in a head lock...chuck him off the edge.. jab the other guy behind me with me elbow, pick up a gun and blast him away...

ooooh i hate nazis... :)

Ooh, they are all over the place... I really liked the Last Pen Lai Lagoon level, I was rolling all over the place with my machine gun, I'd use all my ammo, pull out my mauser, shoot another guy, pick up more ammo for my machine gun, roll away from a grenade, throw one back... and when I finally thought I had got them all, I use a medkit, and a bunch more come pouring out! Agh I hate that! Ooh it was fun!

I really liked the first level in the Emperor's Tomb Chapter... classic Raiders stuff.

Another funny thing was in the Second Emperor's Tomb level, where you have to fight all the triads, then the spirits, anyway, Mei Ying was fighting them, on the steps, and a ninja popped her one, she fell over the ledge into the water! 5 seconds later, she popped back up out of nowhere and was back in the action! Oh how I laughed.

It wasn't funny at the time, but on the Vegas Tower level in Prague, I didn't know about the poison gas (I make a point to not read walkthroughs unless ABSOLUTELY neccesary) and I took the soul crystal, the poison gas came in, I found the fallen bookcase, but didn't see the chandelier, and as I had 0.001 health I tried to use a medkit... it didn't work. :)

There's been plenty more, and I don't have time to type them all! I love this game!

My clasic indy moment that i had was i roll accross a path and throw a grenade at a bad guys back.....and it made a punching sound and he turned around only to see the grenade he got so scared he ran away and ended up falling off a cliff instead of death by grenade.

[The French Indy]

I was playing the third level of the Black Dragon fortress.
I was standing next to the edge of the second balcony and some ''ninjas'' punched and kicked me without mercy, so i fell off the balcony. Indy screamed like he usualy does when he falls to his dead but...


I managed to catch the rope(located at the begining of the level). I went back to the 2nd balcony and gave those ninjas the ride of their life.
