Im surprised no one's pointed this out, but the box says "The complete adventures.." which is untrue since theres another installment coming out July 4th 2005, hint hint. Also, because of this, Im just going to wait for Indy 4 to come out on the DVD box set too.
And by then, there will problably be more special features...
Doesn't this make logical (and not to mention, financial) sense to you?
So my question, hmpf, why not just wait for the fourth?

Maybe because the fans are dying for the DVD's to come out. Plus there has to be something every year: ET this year, the DVDs next year and finally Indy 4 the year after. And for them it's a good way to make money, they know the stupid fans (including me) will buy it. I mean how to resist!? not buying it means one whole year of Indy frustration.

Aha! But to you and all who read, have the thought crossed that you could rent it, check out all the cool features(3 hours worth), get through the three movies and return it before your late fee? Think of it as a down payment until the more satisfying set comes with # 4 included.
You'll problably have to plan your weekend though.;)
Or, you could simply ignore it and rent or buy other worthwhile movies.

It's possible that they just make a complete "Special Collection" a year after Indy IV has been released.
The fans are so fanatic that they buy it anyway. It's maybe also why there aren't audio commentaries included, maybe they will be released later in a new "Special Edition" or "Collectors Edition" or whatever they call it.
Cheers,

swords, this thread is a prime example of why I consider you one of the most thoughtful people around the Raven (no offense to everyone else). That never even occured to me; thanks for the idea. I believe I may do the same.

Or, when the fourth comes out on DVD, you could just remove the bonus disc out of the 'package of the complete advntures' and put the fourth there... That way the bonus disc will be its own sepicial dvd to be placed next to the box set, but not in.

Of course, there also is always the option of buying the set and then sell it at ebay, pawn it, etc....

One reluctant, another observant, one who disagrees, one who agrees, and two with clever ideas, the former of the ideas is something I can actually see myself doing.
Thanks for the words Professor, you make me want to go make threads on other boards...

If I reant it, it probably wouldn't come with the bonus DVD because the films would only be rentable individually. I've never seen a place in my country where you could rent a whole box set (that's maybe because I haven'looked much).

this topic...
Sure people think its because they want to make money but I think its also partially, if not completely, because the fans let know they really want this boxset. Also I want a dvd trilogy set without the fourth movie. The three original will always be different to the fourth no matter how good that fourth will be.
Two boxsets, thanks Lucasfilm. Great times for fans. :)

Yeah, thats a good point. Since the first three is the ultimate set itself, even if you want to get it with Indy 4 attached, theres no reason why you shouldn't get this one.
I feel I sound a little right wingy with my topic here, not like Im forcing anyone to wait for Indy 4, do what you choose of course.
