Hello! Newbie here - can't believe I've finally found an Indy forum! :) Yay - people who won't look at me funny when I say "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" is the best film ever made!

Oh yeah, d'uh, meant to post this...

Is the script I bought on ebay for Indy 4 about four years ago (the Noah's Ark one) a complete fake or was it something written for consideration and then never used?

It's the Stalin/Noah's Ark/Indy's son gets kidnapped one...

You BOUGHT that one?!?!?!?!?

I'm sorry to say, it's fan fiction written by a talented screenwriter by the name of Robert Smith.

Awww, your kidding right? Oh well - it's a good read and was only about $10 on ebay. I actually have two copies...damn. Oh well...I'm glad it's not the real one as the whole Stalin thing was a bit dumb in my view anyway!

Thanks for clearing that up though...

Tell us who sold you that. We'll snitch Lucas. You'll be getting your money back (even some extra). And maybe even a signed statement from the seller that he was a bad guy and won't try that anymore. ;)

Yeah, right. Welcome to the boards, anyway, fellow fan. :)

Nah, can't be arsed with that and as it was so long ago I wouldn't have a clue who it was anyway. Still, it looks good along side my real scripts for Indys 1, 2 & 3...

Thanks for the idea though.

Don't forget to add "Indiana Jones and the Saucermen from Mars" by Jeb Stuart and "Indiana Jones and the Garden of Immortal Peaches" or "Indiana Jones and the Garden of Life" by Chris Columbus. These were ACTUAL Indy IV potentials. Once you read them you'll see why they were discarded. Although they are fun reads!!

I recently found out that this "Sons of Darkness" script is originally written by Jeffrey Boam - yup, the one who wrote the 'Last Crusade' script - and that Robert Smith simply edited it a bit here and there.

So Robert Smith is a very, very bad Indyfan. Shame on him! :(

So tonyjones, there's a chance that you have bought a script written by the person who also wrote the script of your favorite film... the best film ever made. ;)

Oh, and welcome to The Raven bar. What may I serve you?

Woah!
The Sons of Darkness was written by Jeffrey Boam? I must say, i´ve never read it, but i´m surprised. I believed that it was a creation of a more unknown person. (that would be Robert Smith then)
Interesting! May i ask where do you got that information from?

Uh. Nearly forgot: Welcome to The Raven, Tonyjones :)

Careful now, the Jeffrey Boam rumor is what brought Sons of Darkness it's popularity in the first place. It was later revealed to be property of a Robert Smith. It's been so long that the rumors may just be getting out of order. But rest assured, IT IS NOT A JEFFREY BOAM SCRIPT!!

Read it here (Now Retitled):

Hi TonyJones! Welcome to The Raven! :D http://bigjohnspropstudio.homestead.com/files/arizona_bob_waving_md_wht.gif

I also love Last Crusade. (Raiders is my favourite, though) Crusade was the film which turned me into an Indy fan.

Recently got to see it again on the big screen (14 or so years later!)

Also got to interview Julian Glover as well. :)

BTW, how long have you been an Indy fan and whereabouts are you from?

Henry: "So son. Ready for another adventure?"
Indy: (thinks) he's gotta be kiddin' me!

No prob! I personally feel that the history of the making of Indy IV (since its the longest sequel-in-the-making in history) is an important part of the Indy mythos. Fake scripts written by fans, incredible rumors, phony interviews, wrong start dates and a looong list of writers.

I'd love to read up on the history of the script...*wink*

Yes, I was able to find a few odds and ends in there, nothing too exciting though. The title is "Indiana Jones and Tree of Life and The UFO to Atlantis." (best.title.ever.) During the movie's opening gambit, he finds Excaliber and Noah's Ark. Later, he finds Eden, gets abducted by a UFO and is finally taken to Atlantis. This is all completely accurate information. Really. Oh yeah.

Hi everyone! :)

Yeah - the scripts I have have "Written by Jeffrey Boam" on the front cover and now thinking back the seller on ebay claimed to be his son (which was the first thing that got me thinking they *must* be fake!).

Oh well - nevermind - I was top boy for a bit there amongst my mates who were in awe at my having the supposed Indy 4! Just don't tell them it's a fake all right?! ;)
