Last month I was browsing one of the forums I goto, and there was a thread there about a 5th bonus DVD with pre-orders. I tried searching for that particular thread but I couldn't find it.

Basically what was said that if you pre-order the Indiana Jones Trilogy at Future Shop, its an electronic store here in Canada, you'll get a 5th dvd as a bonus.

I'm not sure if its been discussed here, but I thought I'd let people here know just in case. I went to future shop the other day and got my pre-order. You get the disc on the day you buy the set.

I talked to the guy that works there and he told me that if you pre-order the set, you'll get the 5th DVD for sure, specially reserved for you. Otherwise its a first come first serve until they run out.

From my knowledge the 5th dvd is called along the lines of 'making of raiders and the lost arc', don't quote me on that.

In the thread they mentioned that for people living in America, they would get this same deal at Best Buy, which makes sense since Best Buy bought out Future Shop.

Hmmm.... I haven't heard anything about this. Although, I pre-ordered a Star Wars game for my Game Cube recently (Rebel Strike) and Best Buy gave me a pretty cool bonus disc for pre-ordering. (A few bits from the game, some clips of other games and a completely playable version of the old arcade game.) So maybe it's true.

BestBuy has such a disc. I am not sure what is on it, some say that is merely a preview of the fourth disc, but lately some other news has said that this fifth bonus disc has a vintage "Making of".

Just to confirm. The disk was available though Futureshop in Canada. The disk, which has no menu, simply jumps into an original 10 minute EPK (promotional short) made before the release of RAIDERS. I'll have to see the DVD Documentary to know how much of the material overlaps, but I did notice some behind the scenes filming of the dropped Indy/Swordsman fight.

The 5th dvd is nothing but a 10-minute trailer on the making of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Nothing to write home about.

No, but it does represent some of what people were looking for. Vintage documentories. It's a neat time capsule. I don't know how often I'll watch it, but I'm glad to have it just the same...

I like the extra 10 minutes feature because it showed how the IJ character was perceived back in '81. You don't hear the terms 'soldier-of-fortune' and 'grave-robber' used too much these days to describe IJ.

If anyone has or seen the "Great Stunts & The Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark" VHS then you've seen the 10-minute 5th disc. That VHS is 107 minutes and the DVD is just an edited version of that. If you watch the new documentary first and then this 5th disc you don't get anything new. However it's the old documentary as it was originally shot. It doesn't have "fresh" interviews mixed in. It's Spielberg, Lucas and Ford being interviewed at the time on the set of Raiders.

It won't be a big deal to the casual fan but to an Indy collector like myself it's a must-have.
