List,
I'm going to buy my first whip and am try to find that magic combination between price, indy likeness, and quality.
I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Keplar whip and this one by Mark Allen:

What do the sages here think is the best bet?
Will one be easier to use thant he other?
Thanks!
Chad

If I were trying to make the same decision myself, I'd go with the Red-Hide Whip from Western Stage Props. It just looks much more like Indy's whip to me. Its wristloop appears to be braided, like Indy's, and is very nice looking, whereas the Kepler whip needs to be modified to even include a wristloop. The cheaper price just wouldn't be enough for me to choose the Kepler.

I've talked with the staff at Western Stage Props, and here's what I've learned.
If you want a whip that will last a lifetime, a kangaroo hide, 12 plait (16 plait is so thin of strips of leather, it will not last as long), such as the Indy style whip (If you can stand a price of about 300), is the best.
I have a 6' Indy Western Stage Props, and an 8' australian style Western Stage Props, and what I would suggest, is an 8' Indy style, such as this one:

the reason i posted this site
http://www.ecwhips.com
is because he wants a indy bull at a good price.
a joe strain is expensive, compared to a ec whip.
Jim is a great guy and makes great whips, check out his
site. http://www.ecwhips.com
