If thay{Spielberg/Lucas} were going to do a spin off of one of the characters from the Indy movies witch character would you like to see.
Now brace your selfs cos old Web is NOT going to say Short Round is his choice. I think it would be cool to see Henry Jones Sr. in his own movie it could take place in the 1880s or some thing.

I think Marcus Brody would be an interesting choice.

The Adventures of Marcus Brody would be a grate spin off movie, like Rendreking is saying "An older version of Jones."
Good call monkey.

We had a thread like this a while back

everyone has their opinions, but I don't think Henry or Marcus would make a good adventure show/film. you can just tell that they are agianst violence and have never faced danger until LC
reasons? here ya go:

Henry:
"They're trying to kill us!......it's a new experience to me".....yeah, what would an indy spin off be without someone trying to kill em?

and marcus is just way to clumsy to be a former adventurer

consideration:
-short round....in the history of this forum, the ultimate choice for an indy spin off, let's think a teen/20's shorty would be cool....but never cool enough to match an indy film...still, it would be interesting to see him back

-Sallah...he's a cool, funny guy

however, both of these guys seem too much like sidekicks to have a film or show.......now a comic would be perfect for them

the best choice:
Abner, the man who inspired indy in his college age, the best choice I can see....I would love to see a young indy/abner adventure like that lost comic and lost YIJC episodes

A tv show staring Willie Scott each week Willie is working/singing at a new nightclub and gets in all kinds of adventures.

well, none of the charactors in the films are nearly as well known as indy

nothing would work as well as either a YIJC or a cartoon.....why not a show that has 2/3 mini adventures each episode with different charactors (probubly all cartoons)

some with young indy, 30's-50's indy, sallah, abner, belloq, shorty...the whole shabang

of corse, it's an odserd Idea...no one, except us raveners, wants to see anyone else but indy.........It would have to be a VERY good concept, amasing writing and all to even get to the pilot, which has to be perfect to get the show going

I'll say that Henry sr. needs to be our spinoff character.
he seems like he's been sytuck in an office all his life, but i bet he'd surprise you.

To bad Lucas wasteted all his time and $$ on that Star Wars crap when he should have been focusing on Dr. Jones.

Good point RKF and Webley.

Definitely the Marcus from Raiders!!

I just watched Last Crusade last night and, as every time I have watched it, I am at a loss to explain what the hell they did with Marcus's character in that movie, and why.

They make him out to be a bumbling, stumbling, senile old fool.

That is NOT the character as I would use him in a story. Indeed Marcus is a fascinating and underexplored character. Plus, there's not a lot of 'documented' baggage attached, so you can have a lot more literary freedom.

How about a spin-off using Mohan (sp?) as the lead?

Quick $500 (Monopoly money) to whoever knows who Mohan is!

Someone from YIJC?

Or do you mean Wu Han, Indy's Chinese friend who dies at the beginning of ToD?

Oh, and btw if he is... Ilsa, Mulleram, Mohan... WHAT is wrong with you people being Indyfans but not knowing the names of the characters?!

Nope! Not Wu Han.

I'll give you a hint. He was in Raiders.

Don't you have some kind of smoking in public law? I think that's what he was referring to.

Since most of the actors are too old to portray these roles, there could be either one based on early adventures (say Belloq, for example) or maybe, assuming he has one, the son or daughter of Indy who picks up the trade. This would also allow such adventures to be placed in contemporary times, although traditional Indy it wouldn't, especially in an age of Internet and televisions. But, taking modern "urban legends" such as UFOs and secret socities would be interesting.

Why who knows, maybe we all find out the WMD in Iraq was in fact that dimensional gate in the Tower of Babel after all! :D

I've been meaning to ask about this. Apparently, Indy has a daughter and grandchildren Spike, lucy and harry. When was his daughter born? who is his daughter's mother? What's her name? I'm sorry about going offtopic but I didn't want to open a new post having also asked a question about Indy's mum.

What do you think about katanga and his voyages, I know he doesnt have that a great part in the triology, but It seems like a character with a lot of experience?
