Fate of Atlantis Sound

Hello Everyone, I have FoA, IM, and ET, all for PC. I have an XP, and the talkie of FoA. However, I have tried the patch, and every setting I can think of, and still the sound doesn't work. On some settings, I can get him to say about a word, and then the game freezes. Just wondering if anyone had tried it on XP, and if anyone had ever encountered anything like this.
