View Full Version : Indy Versus

With the recent trend of crossover movies and characters in film such as Freddy vs. Jason and the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator, what do you feel would be a good "versus" for Indy? Now while I always kind of considered the Star Wars universe existing in the same one as Indy's, both would be either unattainable (SW takes place in a "galaxy far, far away") or unrealistic to pit one another against (Indy is about one guy who globetrots. SW is about a galaxy at war).
So, that out of the way who would make a good opponent (and even maybe team up) with Indy?

As much as I hate seeing these 2 charactors on opposite side...then ultimate indy battle is:
James Bond vs. Indiana Jones

How about:
Indiana Jones versus Lara Croft
That would be AWESOME!!
The original Tomb Raider vs The big-breasted Tomb Raider
The man in the fedora vs the chick in the short shorts
The man with a webley vs the chick with 2 pistols (I don't know what make or model they are)
There are so many ways to advertise this! It would be frickin' awesome!
DUDE!
SWEET!

Camera pans to feet of man. He is wearing nice shoes and tuxedo pants. Camera pans up body. Recognizable jacket. Man walks to middle of screen. Then you see the hat. Finally man turns around. In full view. Fires gun. Blood trickles down screen. Then he speaks.
"The name's Jones. James Jones." Dramatic Chord strikes.

OK, I got one. Indiana Jones versus a large crowd of scantily dressed amazon warriors! Like Indy vs. Lara Croft, but better.
How about...
"Indiana Jones versus Neo" :D:D:D

Nay, not them. DE .50 is too heavy a weapon (this gun KICKS) to shoot even when you're holding one with your both hands (and besides, this gun is in Lara's arsenal in TR3, single gun which she holds with both hands), let alone that you have a pair of them.
To me, they remind the European 9 mm variation of H&K's USP/MARK .45.

If this is the topic...the ultimate, in my opinion, would be Jones vs. Holmes.

Ah, yes, of course. Well, Indy vs. Sherlock, working opposite each other towards the same goal (so it's not as if they're trying to kill each other - it's a battle of wits against the same guy). Also, Marcus and Mycroft are opposed in the whole diplomatic desk work portion of the adventure. There would be, for comedy, a rivalry between Short Round and Wiggins, the street urchin. Sallah and Dr. Watson, besides being along for the ride, would compare notes on their friendships with the heroes before, during, and after their marriages. Then there are Marion Ravenwood and Irene Adler who happen to meet up and commiserate over the men (not) in their lives. And most intriguingly, Belloq and Moriarty would also meet up, revealing that they despise each other even more than they dislike their counterparts, Jones and Holmes.
