Hello, I'm new here and is a great fan of Indy. I'm writing on an own Indy fan fic novel but I need help from you. I'm not a relic professor and so (or a relic hunter also by the way) I really need your help to find a relic that I can use in my fan fic novel. Can you think on something that hasn't been used in the movies or the novels. Hope you can help me!

Good, I can use it for another one of my fan fics. More suggestions? I want a thing with mythical powers that is has a good legend and so on I want many good locations. It can also be a mythical location (like Atlantis, but that has been used). I'm planning to write 5 fan fic novels or shorter fan fics. Now I've got atleast one idea, thanx!
Does Durandal, the sword of the paladin Roland (Also called the Sword of Shame) count as a mythical relic or what?

I've never heard of any mythical connection to that particular event, but I'd say go for it anyway. It has potential.

The Camelot weather report?
The Golden Helmet of Mambrino?
I'm sorry, those don't really help. I'll be serious.
As for locations, I would consider El Dorado, the legendary city of gold. Well, or why not consider something involving Camelot? That always has potential.

Thanx now I got a couple of ideas but I want some ideas of an artifact. Something biblish maybe. Somethin' with mythical powers that the Nazi wants to take and cover the world with darkness with :). Got somethin'? Want exotic locations like Siam, Ceylon, Brasilia, Congo etc.

Hows about a Lightsaber? You could call the book "Indiana Jones and the Blade of Kenobi"

There's always the Golden Fleece, as hunted by Jason
or the Emerald Tablet of Hermes...both have loose ties to alchemy.

Ah, Thanatos, I thought you could be counted on to just jump in whenever you have something to say. Besides, it was a very quick post. :) Anyway...
Cover the world with darkness, eh?
I would look into the Plagues of Egypt. True, Exodus has been done rather well in both Raiders of the Lost Ark and the book Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Sphinx. But still, you're looking for a Biblical darkness thing, and you could easily make up a story about various people who passed down relics at some point after the diaspora, which could be a way to incorporate exotic locations.

Are you sure that the plague hasn't been done yet. If it hasn't I'd take it. Thanks. More perhaps?

Has the Box of Pandora been in the Indy chronology yet? And Atilla it doesn't has to be a bibical relic. I want a relic with mythical powers that the Nazis will be looking for.

No, I don't think Pandora's Box has been done...and Greek myths have been surprisingly underdone in the Indy stories.

The Trojan Horse, maybe; or an even better tie in to The Garden of Eden-------> Atalanta and the Golden Apples?

I think I will elect Pandora's Box, it is a perfect artifact that the Nazi could be looking for. Don't forget I am writing other Indy fan fics and still needs other relics for that.

Hmm, Garden of Eden sounds good. Camelot also sounds good. Atilla and others got something more. I will present my first Indy fan fic ideas to my novels in the Fan fiction boards. But I still need more ideas!

i just finished the rough draft of my fan fic novel a few weeks ago. i estimate it around 520 pages. blech. editing it down, down, down.
anyway, i'm avoiding anything to do with crystal skulls. though i love that stuff, it's just too overdone, especially in the indy stories.
i think the golden fleece was done in an indy comic book, if i'm not mistaken, though perhaps it was a book, but i don't think it was.
a good relic? the spear of longingus (if i'm recalling the name rightly) is a great one. it was the spear that pierced christ's side as he hung on the crucifix. supposedly, any warrior carrying it into battle was invincible. legend is charlemange carried it until he accidentally dropping it in a river he was crossing, getting killed minutes afterward.
the hapsburgs of austria finally got ahold of it. until hitler confiscated it. wonder why austria was one of the first to fall? there's your answer, lol. hitler lost the spear, i believe the tale goes, and the bombs soon started falling on his head. personally, i tend to think hitler failed as a result of a deteriorating mental state as a result of syphillus, but that's a lot less romantic. let's just be glad he did and leave it at that. :)
anyway, i think that fulfills just about everything you could want in a relic, not to mention 'documented historic' accounts of the nazis' interest in the artefact, eh? if that doesn't do it for ya, i'm not sure what will, lol.
a sequel to the dead sea scrolls? meeting the wandering jew? becoming a shiek? all good things, but i'll give ya another idea i was saving for a rainy day for another story: the templar's hoarde. that's a good one, i think. i'm really not into the 'king arthur's sword'-type stories.

btw, pandora's box is an awesome 'relic.' problem is tomb raider got to it first in 'cradle of life.' you might as well do 'the monkey's paw.' :)
Pandora's Box is my favorite myth! that's so cool!

That was a pretty good story...I just wish I could remember who wrote it. Ah...William Wyman Jacobs.
