Hey all, I'm throwing an indiana jones marathon and want to put together some drink and food ideas to eat that day to accompany the movies. I've been looking around, but I can't get any good ideas from what I've found online.

I was thinking of cooking some brats and saurkraut for the nazi's and maybe making some hummus for the mid-east.

But I'm not all that impressed with my ideas, anyone have any better ideas, that they would want to share, or know of any online references for this type of stuff.

Thanks,
Frank

Hummus- absolutely. It's one of my favorite foods.

How 'bout Indian food for "temple of doom".

Why do you ask? Are you having a party? If so, may I come?

Whisky! If you plan on drinking anyways...

I think I remember reading a while back that there actually is an alcoholic drink called the Indiana Jones...

Thanks for some great suggestions, please keep them coming. Yeah kate, this is for a "Jonesathon" we are having at the house with some friends.

The Indiana Jones

Ingredients:
1/2 shot Tequila
1/2 shot Whisky
1 shot Champagne

Mixing instructions:
Add the Whisky and Tequila together, one shot worth combined, then add the same amount of Champagne/Sparkling Wine. Put your hand or a beer mat over the glass, slam it down onto table and then down it in one.

EDIT: I've never drank it!

Kate

Pale Horse

Willie in TOD never stopped screaming. Indy shouldn't have shared a drink with her, on any level.

Kate

oh yeah! willie is my least favorite indy girl. i once had a teahcer who looked JUST LIKE HER and my friend and I called her "willie" behind her back.

I somehow feel sharing a drink with you, even on this level would get me into trouble.

Sweet. You guys just gave me some great ideas for drinks. I've never had an Indiana Jones before. I use to be a bartenter and I had never even heard of it.

I too resided behind the 3' wooden aphrodisiac, for a time. That's where I came up with the Indi-tini

Well I'll have to try the Indi-tini. It sounds good.

If you can make a bloomin' onion, make one and find some kind of good spicy sauce in the middle and it can be a hot onion sauce lava pit dip of doom appetizer! Haven't tried this, but I figure it would work.

Perhaps a wasabi ranch sauce?

Hey, Aaron H closed this http://www.theraider.net/theraven/showthread.php?threadid=2762&pagenumber=3
thread right when I was waiting for Ben Friend of Indy to submit his plans for a resteraunt.
He said that it was off topic. I really don't want to go through the trouble of sending him an E-mail, but I kindof liked that thread.
Not complaining......too much :)
just thought it was a good thread, and seemed on-topic to me.

Kate

You went to the trouble of posting a new message...surely you can spend that same time to send me an email.
If you want you can open a thread that addresses that topic, otherwise, send each other a "PM".

Kate
02-10-2004, 06:55 PM
whoops- sorry. I'm new around here.

Tennessee R

That's OK, Aaron, I'm fine with it closed, I just didn't see the off-topic-ness of that thread.
Oh, and I just got E-mail like two days ago, so I guess I could have sent you an E-mail.

Oh, and Aaron H, sorry to ask, but what do you mean by a PM? does that stand for post-mark? And if it does, I still am not sure what you mean by it, sorry.

On http://www.SoYouWanna.com under table manners, it includes this:

"...then carefully remove the primate, and take everyone out to a very expensive restaurant where monkey brains are on the menu. Then everybody will laugh!"

It mentioned a pet monkey more than once. Just thought it was kind of neat.
