View Full Version : Raiders Question

I'm sure this has been brought up before. And might be a well known goof. But in the Raven Bar scene how does Indy magically switch from his revolver to a semi auto pistol then back to the revolver?

My only guess is that there was a scene cut out inbetween where it shows him get the semi auto. But if that's the case how could he go back to his revolver. He wouldn't have time to reload!

The thing that is interesting to me is that after all the years I have watched this movie on VHS, I never noticed this goof untill I watched it on DVD. I also picked up some other little things I missed as well.

grumpus
02-08-2004, 06:55 PM
when does the switch happen

Captain Katanga
02-08-2004, 07:00 PM
Right after he says "let her go" and then he goes into that little corridor with the revolver and the next shot he as a semi auto.

grumpus
02-08-2004, 07:09 PM
alrighty then i think i have to go watch for that

Strider
02-08-2004, 07:22 PM

Doc Savage
02-08-2004, 07:55 PM
Mine's a toss-up. Raiders or Last Crusade. It's almost like watching two different Indys.

Strider
02-08-2004, 07:57 PM
I know how you feel. Raiders is such a classic yet Crusade is so good! (Sean Connery!)

Kate

Besides, according to Indy, %70 is done in the library. Our good friend may not yet have had his %30 of field work, so that's why I asked him if he dug. ;)

I've only seen part of "When Nature Calls", but I can picture it. Jim Carrey is hilarious. ;)

Does anyone remember how we got an innocent thread so off-track?

OK, I gotta g to sleep now (the batteries in my cordless mouse are low; gotta plug the mouse into its cradle). Before I do, I'd like to [try to] make amends and get back on topic.

AHEM... ***CLEAR THROAT***

I remember someone once mentioned here at the Raven that when Indy ducks into the doorway, he seems to be fumbling with his satchel; perhaps thats when he changed guns. This would also explain how Indy managed to fire more than ten rounds when a Webley can only hold six.

However, I don't buy that story; when Indy "appears to be fumbling with his satchel", I think he's just putting his whip away. What do you think?

Hmmmmmm, good point - but I don't think a Smith & Wesson can hold that many rounds either...

VP
02-11-2004, 06:01 AM
Yeah, I think that all revolvers can only hold six bullets at the same time. But remember, in IM Indy can shoot as many rounds he wants to. You don't have to reload or get new bullets. He has unlimited ammo in his revolver. :D

Oh, and Indy also uses a Browning HP in the Raven fight.
