i am a big fan of mystery novels and thrillers. my favorite authors are sir arthur conan doyle , james patterson and jeffery deaver.
what are some of your favorite mystery authors?

ah yes the great phillip marlowe. i gotta admit they don't write characters like that anymore. if you like private eye novels, may i suggest some of lindsay davis's books which feature a private eye in ancient rome. they're quite good and filled with a lot of witty banter.

PD James is great!
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's entire Sherlock Holmes inventory.
Can't forget the Grande Dame of Mystery herself Agatha Christie
And there's a great American mystery/suspense author that might not be as well known, but is sure worth a look. T. Jefferson Parker. Most of his books are set in the Southern California area. Great writer!

Mystery...
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (second in my authors favorites only to Jules Verne)
Agatha Christie (And Then There Were None is excellent)

I like Raymond Chandler a lot, but Mickey Spillane is my favorite. Mike Hammer is a great hardboiled detective hero, a total bada** What a great character.
