Help with a BET...

Hello All. I need help with some stupid bet. A bunch of friends and I were talking, and the conversation progressed to Indiana Jones, and eventually to the much anticipated release of the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD. Anyway, 2 friends got into a frivolous dispute over whether Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford were ever involved romantically.

I am honestly not sure. Really, this is someone's private business, but I thought somebody here at the Raven would know? Help me end this silly bet?

So, were CF and HF (or Leia and Han) a real couple???

Fisher "had a crush" on Ford (her words). Ford only saw her as a co-worker and fellow artist. As Fisher said, "what woman wouldn't [have a crush on Ford]?"

While I may not be straight on my facts and dates, could Ford have also seen her as a crazed, drug-abusing freak?

EDIT: Here's story on Fisher that summarizes her drug abuse, mental disorders, family history and careers. I'm going to stick with my first guess and assume that Ford was smart enough to stay away. Didn't know that her RotJ bikini shot was downloaded so much. . . .

but no, Ford wasn't involved with Fisher because he was with Melissa Matheson at that I believe, who wrote the screnplay to ET.

I read a recent interview with Mark Hammil, and he said he was totally unaware that Carrie Fisher was doing drugs at the time. It's probable that Ford didn't know either - you'd think he might have mentioned it to his co-star if he did.

Watch the "love-scene" in Empire Strikes Back, you will notice that Ford is helping Fisher with her lines. Why? Because he knew she was stoned and unable to remember her lines.
Ford knew, but Hammil may not have known simply because of the few scenes that he and Fisher did together.

Can't remember where I saw this but I read that Ford was seeing Fisher on the 1st Star Wars film but had split by the time of the 2nd, and they apparently weren't getting on very well during the making of ESB, mainly due to Fisher not being happy about the break up.

No idea how accurate this is though.
