I'm a big fan of beer and I thought it would be interesting to discuss what brands of beer that some of the folks here at the Raven prefer. Being Canadian I mostly drink domestic beer from my country but I am always interested in trying different types of beer from all around the world not to mention other types of liquor.

If your not a beer drinker I would encourage you discuss your favorite drink as well.

Since this is a family friendly board, I hope I am not crossing any boundaries by discussing this. I

Some of my favorites would include:

Domestic Beer - Molson Canadian
Molson Export
Alexander Keiths
Moosehead
Miller GND(Genuine Draft)

Imported Beer- Heineken
Guinness

Hard Liquor- Jack Daniels
Johnnie Walker
Chivas
Bacardi Gold

I'll be the first non-beer drinker to discuss my favorites... lol

Mountain Dew
Surge (that's gone now... anybody remember that stuff?)
Sprite
Shirley Temples (mmmm)
Lemonade is good too
Creme Soda from South Africa (I have family there... sometimes they can send us some. It's better that the creme soda here in the states)
And I do like water, too...

I once tried a martini at a Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's house after watching a Bond movie, just to see what it was like... that thing was so strong... woah. Needless to say, I let my dad finish it. ;)

Shane

Minors...why'd it have to be minors? ;)

Mostly, I'm a Miller Light fan...but I also enjoy Miller High Life--The Champagne of Beers--Corona, Guiness, Amstel Light.

I've been enjoying Scotch more and more lately, either on the rocks or with soda.

Rum and Cokes are really nice. I like 7 and 7's too. Tequila Sunrise used to be my drink, but now I just like Tequila in shot form.

I can't believe I mentioned Scotch and Ren isn't here yet. Odd.

Anyway, Jack Daniels has helped me nurse many a broken heart. Hell, I remember the summer I was dumped by Loretta Scott, that was all I drank. There was a Mexican restaurant next to the Starbucks I worked at, and every lunch or cigarette break, I was over there drinking the pain away. That was the summer of '98--has it been 6 years already?

B&B is a nice after dinner drink, or a cigar drink. I like the fake Absinth we get over here--it may not get us high, but it tastes good.

And I love Frangelico...man, now I REALLY want a drink. ;)

I root for KKK - Koff, Kurko, Koskenkorva.

Miller High Life. How could I forget that one. Must of slipped my mind. Alough I don't know how since I drink it quite often. The only thing about Miller and other American beer that bothers me is the low level of alcohol. The average percentage in Canadian brew is usually about 5%.

Rum and Coke is probably by far my favorite mixed drink. Other then that I drink alot of Jack Daniels and Coke . Jack and coke has got me through alot of tough times as well.

I think the only type of acohol that I won't drink is Gin. We just don't get along.

Martini? Strong? are you kidding? I love Martini specially the white one and it's no way near as strong as Vodka, Gin or Rhum. It's actually pretty sweet. maybe we're talking about different martinis.

Oher than that, I like cider (brut) a lot. I'm not a big fan of beer. but i have to admit that since i worked in a pub in england i like the english beer a lot (Bass and Carling for example). In France we mainly drink German beer.

As for typically french drinks well...Champagne, Bordeaux, pineau des charentes, Cognac and the list goes on and on.

Maybe we are, but I just remember it being very sour. Maybe it was just that I'm not used to tasting alcohol and it was a funny taste to me, who knows... either way, I won't be drinking martinis again for a long time, well after I'm of legal age. They've left a bad taste in my mouth.

Dr Pepper

And before you go saying "minors.....Why'd it have to be minors" again.....I'm not a minor. I'm 25. I used to drink beer and liquor and I liked it. Now, I just prefer Dr Pepper over any other drink. I don't drink anything containing alcohol anymore. Why? I just don't feel like it. Am I wrong in doing this? Maybe. Do I care? Not a damn bit.

Luke

PS- I'm drinking a Dr Pepper as I type this.

I gave up caffeine three years ago, so the only pop I drink is Sierra Mist, Sprite, or 7-Up (can't stand cola drinks, either).

I am a race-car beer fan... Michelob Light! (or Bud Light if I don't feel like spending the extra 70 cents...ooooo big spenda..I know!) If I'm at the bar (which is 1nce every 2 weeks for karaoke) and Webs driving that night I might get a few (no more than 3! I had 4 a few weeks ago..it was a bad..bad thing! Someone had a birthday party there with balloons shaped like male anotamy and oh boy, was I a BAD girl running around the joint having my way with EVERYONE!! Web was at the pool tables just laugin' at me! )
Annnyhoooo I like Sxx on the Beach and Seabreezes. Ren introduced me to Irish coffee last winter and it was really good! I hope he's serving some up next time me + Web get down around that way. (hint hint!) We'll bring the #9s!!

~after being somewhat tersely moved out of a now closed section of the bar, Maj. Eaton wanders to a much less intimidating crowd.~

I see everyone here is discussing libations. No harm in that, even us intelligence guys like to imbibe now and again. While many of you may look at this body and claim it to be hops induced, I can most certainly say, I like gin. And while a good dry martini is always in style, there is nothing like the flavor of a good fine long grain in the pipe and a Negroi cocktail to pass the hours. Does anyone mind if I indulge, here?

alcohol used to be a major part of my life (got right smashed roughly 4 times a week) but ive calmed down since then... and smartened up

now i only drink once every 1-2 weeks...

and when i do its labatt blue... or perhaps a little jagermeister (sometimes straight ... sometimes mixed with gingerale)

the moral of the story is however... dont go crazy on the drinking... youll lose money and feel like crap often

Now that I'm thinking of Moxie I got curoius and looked it up..here's a neat site about it..haven't found an official website though.... http://www.bdragon.com/moxie/moxie.shtml

Edited to add these sweet lyrics from Moxie's 1904 advertisment jingle (The website..which is a site "owned" by a cute Tonkinese, similar to Siameese, cat..hosts the mp3 to hear)

"...just make it Moxie for Mine,
For the strenuous life it is fine.
It's a drink that they serve,
Which will build up your nerve.
So just make it Moxie for Mine! "

Sounds like a drink that an adventurer could choose!!

Jager is an hebal fermentation of natural plants. So many people claim that it gets them "blitzed" but in actuallity it has less alcohol by volume then your standard 'spirit'.

Funny what the mind will do to you....

I hear what your saying. Drinking in moderation is ok and can be fun. A few years back when I first moved out of my parents home I did a whole lot of bindge drinking with my buddies. I mean we were drinking like 5 times a week and I suppose it was fun for a while but it got old fast and I just started to feel like crap. Now I only drink a couple of times a month(if that) and I can say its alot more enjoyable that way.

OK, that's one way to make it, VP :)

Sailors on the old seas used to drink rum.
One captain (I'm not looking it up, because I told you not to either) named something like William Groggert, thought that him men were getting a bit too drunk, so he put an order in to dilute rum with water.
And it became known as grog from his name.
And we get 'groggy' from tha also.

Isn't that neat?

Yes indeed, original grog is just watered-down rum. Here's one that sounds slightly tastier (and won't kill you). :D

Navy Grog recipe

Scale ingredients to servings
1/2 oz Bacardi Light Rum
1/2 oz Bacardi Gold Rum
1/2 oz Bacardi Dark Rum
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Pineapple Juice

Pour liquors into an ice-filled collins glass. Add juices, shake, and garnish with an orange wedge and pineapple chunk.

Hey has anyone tried a Papa Doble? It is a drink that Hemingway invented while living in Cuba:

Ingredients:
1 shot White rum
1 shot Rose's Lime Juice (sweetened)
1 shot Grapefruit juice
Ice
1 splash Grenadine

(As appeared on the Webtender)

Mixing instructions:
Shake rum, grapefruit juice, and lime juice with ice and pour or strain into glass. Add a splash of grenedine.

The first time I had this was when I was in Key West during the Hemingway Days Festival.

I've also gotten into wines, lately, too. I love Spanish wines, like Don Faustino VII.

I am very much a wine connoisseur. Some of that comes from my recent endeavor into the cooking (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_22990,00.html) world. (I competed in a potluck contest and won)

There are several restaurants around the southland here that teach and emphasise food and wine pairings (which really helps teach the palate about how different wines will be enjoyed, either alone or with food). But I believe a wine thread deserves it's own vine to grow on, maybe a wine review thread? Who knows?

As far as the papa-double, I have had it, and enjoy it as a refreshing break on the hot So. Cal. days. Trouble is, it often gets lost behing the easy and convenient bottle of beer.

Concerning wine I have an advice for the young men taking their lady out to a somewhat fancy restaurant. If you don't know what wine to take, just order a BROUILLY (Beaujolais). It's one of the only red wines that's supposed to be served fresh, it's an elegant wine, usually very much appreciated by women, and it's affordable. Now don't go thinking I'm a wine specialist, this is just what my dad has taught me.

Usually red wine goes with red meat. White wine goes with fish and pink wine (rosé) goes with anything but it's more of a summer wine.

You know who has better Chai Tea lattes than Starbucks? The cafe at Borders Books and Music. Having worked for both places, I know from experience. The Borders Chai is creamier and has more flavor than the Starbucks.

Although Starbucks does have the best Caramel Macchiatos. You know, I won a taste test. I make the greates Caramel Macchiatos ever. Well, at least I did when I was still a coffee jockey.

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of raves about the Macchiatos from my friends. Think I'll try one this weekend.

Gee, wish you could FAX me one-- LOL!

Or just ethanol. Its ethyl alchohol, which is used in most alchoholic beverages. Alchohols are just the plain hydrocarbon with one hydrogen replaced by a hydroxide.

But yeah, it is grain alchohol.

How about an "Indiana Jones" (yes, it actually exsists. I found this on line).

Specialty drink: The “Indiana Jones”

½ shot Whisky
½ shot Tequila
1 shot Champagne

(Optional: One drop each: blood, sweat, tear ;) )

Add the whisky and tequila together and double-up with champagne or sparkling wine. Place your hand or a beer mat over the glass, slam it down onto table and then down it in one. Serve in highball glass.

(This is my own suggestion: Stir with a stick of dynamite. For fun, light the dynamite and toss it out the window at the nearest car.)

I got a gift card to Shell Gas Station for my birthday. Tonight, I decided to use it. I splurged on premium, save $7.99 for a six pack of Samuel Adams (Original) Boston Lager. [There was a time in my life that I could stock the fridge with several varities of it, but pennies are thin for the last two years] I even took cases of it to the river, so that while the rest of the partiers were drinking the 3/2 clear water light from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I was enjoying the amber goodness from the heart of rebellion. Made me the most popular guy out there. But I digress...

Man I forgot how good a real beer tastes. *sips another swig of the best beer in the world*

Pepsi is my current favorite. never liked beer at all but will drink about one bottle or can a year in a hot summer day. Always loved a lot of different mixed drinks I have tried but never cared for the affect of any drink so rarely ever drank any at all. My Daddy was a moonshiner and I think Ren has me confused with my drunk brother that will drink any thing as he accuses me of being a drunk often when I actaully have maybe had occassion to have a drink 3 times in past 5 or so years. I may have been drunk 10 times in my life or less. Then again from what I read many people seem to get things confused easily on forums. Seems I hear of all the emails as well yet have never sent one from my computer to him. Oh well so it goes.

I would hate to use any drug that is addictive and allow it to over power me. I personally think the very worst 2 drugs are alcohal and tobacco and they are the legal ones. I cannot understnd this any more than I can the world I live in. and on that note forums. Why do threads get locked every time some on disagrees ? I will make another post on this one.

I think that ouzo is mentioned in Gypsy's Kiss, too.

When I was in Greece in Feb. of '03, we all got complimentary shot glasses of (I think) retsina. I didn't drink mine, but my friend did. It was kind of orange, like sap, and I think he said it tasted a little like licorice. (Thank you, Finn)
At the resteraunt, they were going to play and sing later that night, but we didn't stay. We were on a whirlwind tour of Greece, and were researching ancient remains for the name Zeus.
Also, another interesting note, is that when you order a salad in America, you expect a lot of lettuce, and maybe a cherry tomatoe, and some croutons. In Greece, a salad usually consists of very little lettuce, some actual slices (orange style) of large tomatoes, a large chunk of goat cheese (or feta), croutons, a lot of cucumbers, plenty olives, etc. It's astoundingly good.

My third post and it is on a thread about alcohol. What does that say about someone?

I have a particular fondness for microbrews and used to brew my own beer (actually ale) for a while. The first batch of ale was fantastic and the second taste like vinegar. Oops! I drank it anyways as a lesson to sterilize the equipment better next time. I never made a bad batch again.

I tried a few of the low carb beers while doing Atkins, but they taste like p*ss. Can I say that here? (I know, I know. And how do you know what p*ss taste like?) That story is for another forum.

I like a good flavored full-bodied beer, ale or stout:

Sam Adams (All flavors exept the light and a warm cranberry lambic)
Samuel Smith (All varieties)
Magic Hat (All varieties)
Guiness Stout (draught preferred)
Cave Creek Chili Beer (don't try to use it to wash down spicy food!)

For some reason, my favorite all around beer is Becks. Most U.S. beer is overcarbonated, too cold (numbs taste buds) and wimpy. I like Germany's philosophy. Warm and heavy.

Wine:
Cabernet Sauvignon
Merlot
Shiraz

Scotch Whisky (Or more common: "whiskey")
How can you have Scotch if it is not from Scotland?

Glenfiddich 18-year-old single malt scotch
Glenlivet

Okay, okay that place in Tennessee is okay as well. ;) What is it called again? "Jack" something....

Here in Iowa, there seems to be a senseless number of (fill in the blank) Light "beer" fans. (I use the term "beer" very loosely.) Around here, I am continually let down by even those with lineage (Irish and German) that would seem to guide them toward beer that tastes like something.

I have not tried blue label (yet). I drank JW Red and JW Black when I was younger and that was all I had available. (Meaning my Dad bought what was on sale.) As far as I understand Johnny Walker whiskies are all blended whiskies.

I know you liove single malt scotch and you know I rarely drink but I used to during a one winter period sip on chevis cannot even spell it now but I am sure you know the one. just drank it over rocks and gained a pallate for it and shared it with a friend I was seeing at the time then bought a half gallon and was glad to give the lst half of it away as I say I a am not really a drinker.
I have this weird reservation of not wanting to purchase liquor in half-gallon containers. I have no idea what it is, since it is the same stuff. I like Chivas Regal just fine though. Dewars works as well. I am not that well-versed in fine whiskies yet and I am not sure if I want to be. I am always up to trying new things and will always drink my mistakes. That is why I do not like mixed drinks much. Too easy to make a mistake and that adds up to a lot of drinking. Always quality over quantity. Too much effort to pour the perfect drink.

I could not develop a pallate for tehm single malts during the time I ws tryying out that blended scotch . My Brother that will drink any thing set before him swears by your 2 favs in the scotch line and some of the Old guys most now dead around here that he used to drink with that were just all hard core moonshine fans also all liked the Glen bros in scotch. Whisky was an acquired taste, for me. Now that I have acquired the taste look what happened ;) Glenmorangie is another I am ready for. Moonshine?! Hey, I had a bottle of Everclear. That is about as close as I think I will get at 190 proof. Since I do not mix my whisky with anything other than a splash of water or two ice cubes (maximum!) to bring out the aroma, I do not drink much or I will wind up naked in a strange town wearing a tutu.

Why do you prefer the single malts or you ever drink that chevas regal or how you spell it
The single malts I have had are very smooth, and that is a favorable quality for me. Also, because there is no blending the age on the bottle is relative to the age of the whisky. Blends are not truly the age they advertise. Four tips for anybody not versed in whisky are:

1) Single malt whisky is produced by a single distillery. These distilleries often produce whiskies for the blends as well.

2) Blended Scotch is just that: a combination of up to 50 grain and single malts from various producers.

3) The age of a whisky is the minimum age of the youngest whisky. In other words, in the case of Johnnie Walker Gold, "Aged 18 years" means that out of all the whiskies blended to create that product, at the very least the youngest whisky was aged 18 years. It is not only quite possible but very likely that some of the whiskies that were blended were 20, 25 or even 30 years aged.

4) Don't EVER mix a fine single malt with anything, you wimp!

I am just kidding about the last one, but it is usually the cheaper whiskies that are used as mixers. This is where the gallon jug of Cutty Sark comes in ;) An excellent whisky sour is made from a good quality lemonade (with pulp) and whisky. Ice if you want it, but it will dilute the drink.

I look at whisky like I look at mutual funds. You can have a single stock and do well with its performance or you can get a blended mutual fund and have a diverse portfilio. It is all in personal taste as a good blend often contains many excellent single malts. Cheers!

The first liquor that I ever drinked was good old fashion Alabama moonshine. I felt intoxicated for almost a week. I figure I suffered brain damage. I swore off drinking until I went into the military. To make a very long story short, I drink Scotch, single malt scotch. I used to drink blended scotch, Green Stripe, Johnny Walker, Dewars, Cutty Sark, most of the available ones. I liked Chivas the best out of the blended. I discovered single malt Scotch and now that is my drink of choice. On the rocks. I never liked American whiskey, but the Candian blended whiskeys were ok in a pinch. I love good beer. I have a fondness for Guiness, but any strong, full bodied beer good to me. I can't stand most American beer. Too much like ginger ale. Watered down. How all of those German immigrants could move over here and brew this stuff most Americans call beer is beyond me. I guess it is what you get used to. My kids would always eat a McDonald's hamburger, but turned their noses up on a home grilled one. Insanity! Unless I am working outside in the heat, I avoid water. I feel like Marcus did. Water, no thank you. Fish make love in it. Fedora

Hehehe, Well at least you never run around naked after that shine :) unless that is the untold part of the longer story.

I am beginning to feel cheated by not having tried that single malt out a little bit more . I would have never got on the blended Chevas and various others that winter if that perty little doctor woman had not of bewitched me into it and I reckon I must have shed her by the time I bought that 5th of Johnny Walker blue label. My wife drinks about as often as I do but i recall her telling Rick some time back she was about ready for a snort. Maybe it ort to be some of that single malt. I am afraid I would have to do like some folks on TV here and end up chain sawing the house in 2 halves to put up with her drunk and kinda pen her up in the other half just to be safe.

Steve, on a safer note Brian said he got his hat and you done another fine job as always and it was just perfect.

I better get to putting down some tounge and groove flooring now or I will be split with a chain saw I fear.

Charlie,
Nowadays, I am not sure about the use of "snort" for a drink. I think it is reseved for cocaine and crack. I have seen nips of the Glenlivet locally for around $2.00 apiece. Check the liquor store to see if they carry them. It is the best way to determine whether it is for you without spending big $$$. If you cannot get it, let me know. I will throw a few in a toilet paper roll and mail them down ; )

Yikes!!! I never thought about a comparrison of the new meaning of such words. I am reminded of the time I found my brother drowning in a barrel of still beer. That was the worst whooping I every got from a little man was when I pulled him out. Who would have known his propesisty to take to drink at such a young age and turn to fighting just for me thinking he was drowning when he was really trying to drink that 55 gallon keg dry was all. I would have got mad at him if he had not tryed eating teh sour slop from that same run out of the hog trough and ended up falling in and getting ett. I swear to this day I never pushed him on over that fence. I can still say this is more fun then the time the hogs ett my little brother.

What was that you said about that gun ship monkey ?

Rick you don't go tell them any tales about stuff like toliet paper they will think we are prone to stretching the truth.

If you ever had a mind to know how much th eold folks liked their drik I will tell you of my Daddy and his youger days of making moonshine down on big branch.

Back in them days they never had much in the way of entertainment her abouts and folks had a lot of fun none the less with such things as barn rasings and cor shuckings and pie suppers and well foot races. Foot races was the big thing of the day as well as boxing bare knukles for the older men but that is a story for anoter time.

Zerl Swindall was a chapioeen foot racer and had out run every body aroud and in fact had taken on contenders from several counties around and never lost ery a race to no body.

Him and Daddy was down on big branch setting up a steel and just had got it going. They was very sure of their safety as big branch is nearing a 90 degree incline straight up and below it was nothing but a laurel thicket that a rabbit could not crawl through.

Well such was the day that most men wore a trench coat back then and all of them wore hats and it was not so far out of the wild west so as folks dressed much the same.

Any ways right when Daddy was raising up from sampling them sweet shots ( the first few drops of likker that comes out distilled at 200 proof yet extremly sweet from the corn squizzings) he looked up and espied Elmer Grey younts proching up from the bottm as if he had part rabbit blood in him. Daddy knew they swas caught and no way round it and yet he thought he had to be fast on his feet some how. That was just it he was only figurativly fast on his feet and yet there was Zerl that was equal fast to any marathon runner right there with him . He screamed out at Zerl to hit that mountain running as elmer grey was righ on them and Zerls face turned white as a ghost and he turned and started running . Daddy said Zerl was so scared he never even took notice of his trench coat a flaring out in the wind and never even felt him a hold of it a hissing zerl on and telling him to hurry as they was shore to be caught if he did not run faster. Well Zerl not only out run them revenuers up that mountain side but he pulled Daddy to safety at the same time. I know Indiana Jones had some mighty fine adventures but I reckon the folks around here had some pretty colorful times thierselves. At least my Daddy did on that day he had Zerl to pull him to the top of big branch on his coat tail. Their favorite drink was always moonshine it was just a matter of whether or not they had much of a cropp of corn that given year or not.

This reminds me of something I tried (and I did mix them together). On a hot day, and while trying to cut down on my calorie consumption, I could not decide whether I wanted a beer or some ice cream, so (yeah, you can see this coming, so I will not explain it.)

Let me summarize it by saying, I do not recommend Budweiser and vanilla ice cream. After weeks of trying for the right combination (and drinking my mistakes), I found that Guiness Stout (in the pub can) and chocolate ice cream is one of the better combinations when you cannot decide. Even that was not spectacular. I gave up there.

Not my drink of choice..

A few years back my buddies took me out for my birthday. They decided I needed to get tanked. Now they also decided to have me drink the most disgusting shots known to man. I'm not going to mention the shot's name since its a little derogitory, but here's whats in it.......

Gin
Grenadine
Parmesan Chesse

There may be another ingredient but I don't think so. Either way I strongley suggest staying away from this drink at all costs!

Ah yes, the infamous "[omit]". We bartenders love to use this drink for those first time 21 year olds that have never had a "legal" mixed drink before. Soon after the choke and hold this one down, we follow it up with lost of other drinks, to ensure a handover, headache and possibly husbandry. ;)

Canyon, I knew there was a reason I liked you. But I have to ask, do you drink it with water and sugar cubes, or just the water, or just the cubes? That's what I love about Pernod, and absinthe in general, there are so many ways to personalize it.

Thats with ice cubes. ;)

I can't drink absinthe though. It's too strong for me.

BTW, have you ever tried uzo? (which is similar to Pernod).

I've got half a bottle of Ouzo upstairs... It's a few years old though (my old flatmate brought it back from a holiday in Greece). I used to drink it when I had a sore throat - "to numb the pain".

I used to do that with whisky. Then I found myself licking doorknobs to get a sore throat more often. ;)

Johnny Walker Blue?

I don't really know anything about it, and I've never tried it. Have you looked it up online? Maybe you could find some info there.

Sorry to be so unclear as I generally am. But I would consider it if I had a hampering at the time it comes up. I am quite an impulse shopper. While I do not want to track it down , it has been a 20 year desire to at least try a sip of this mysterious spirit.

Just I am currently absorbed in my coffee and find it hard to desire more.

It's illegal here in the US (I drank it in Europe), and yes, it's something you should try before you die, if you don't die trying it. :)

I have shared a unique life mostly as a committee of one that was always involved in the most colorful adventures but was always a scardy cat and never entered places I thought were dangerous .. Well except when I did any way. Kinda hard to describe a person like me as i do not think I am explainable . Guess I am a bit harsh on critis sometimes that share in my inability to understnd me but as for absinthe, I have fond not only where to purchas it but also this enlightening and informaive site:http://www.gumbopages.com/food/beverages/absinthe.html

Thank you Kate for your kindness.

You seem to be an informed and avid IJ follower, I have seen you appear on other forums as well.

OT OT While I certinly am not in the market for any dating or even flirting on line , I wonder what your thougt are about a safe dating area for a forum. Not so much a dating site but an area for people of interest to meet online and have the support of others that may lend them some comforts about a person of interest due to living near of having personal knowlege of them. Maybe it would offer a safer enviroment for onliner to meet.

Gladhatter:

That was a very informative site on Absinthe. I have always been curious about this drink. Its good to get the lowdown on it. I have never actually read up on it before.Maybe when I finally get over to Europe I'll get a chance to try some.

Yup, it certainly cleared up many misconceptions I had developed over the years about the drink.

I just found out that there is a liquor store in my area that carries Absinthe. Since its a goverment run place I'm going to assume that means its legal here. I'm going to pick myself up a bottle for the weekend. I'm going camping so it should be interesting.
