When the two pilots in TOD parachute out of Lao Che's plane, where were they falling to? Did they have a ride waiting? Was there a Town below? I doubt they would have jumped in the middle of the mountain range where the plane crashed. It is likely they jumped when the plane was in India already.

Either they had someone come pick them up, or they were on a suicide mission, and froze themselves to death.

maybe they liked to ski...you know a resort vacation!

Start a stop watch. Time the amount of time it takes for them to jump from the plane to the point when Indy wakes up and reaches the cockpit. Combine that with the relative air speed of the plane they were flying (a DC-3 I believe). Now, after calculating in the maxium and minimum altitudes it take to fly over the Himalayas, minus oxygen, combined with the wind speed naturally occuring outside the airplane and I can give you a 25 mile circumference of where the pilots landed, (within 25 miles give or take) ;)

Really, I can tell ya. It's part of your training when you sky dive.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE
words and music by Pete Seeger
performed by Pete Seeger and Tao Rodriguez-Seeger

Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Girls have picked them every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young girls gone?
Taken husbands every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Covered with flowers every one
When will we ever learn?
When will we ever learn?

a little additional info:

scene from the novelisation (in my own words):

The pilots walk up to a sleeping indy on intent to kill him. (cant remember if it was with a gun or knife). So then a chicken egg suddenly rolls out of one of the baskets in the plane and even though Indy is asleep he catches it as a reflex before the egg hits the ground. The pilots are so scared because of that, so they leave the plane without first killing Indy.

That's right! I'd forgotten that!

I think they jumped onto a waiting mat, then changed back into their 1984 clothes and drove to the unemployment office.

Thanks for writing out the WHOLE song! *sarcastically said*
Does the novel have an answer for this thread? I'll have to check it out. I have it in my collection but have not read it.

Yeah, it's too bad it wasn't in the movie. That would definitely be hard to film for Harrison!;)
