Hello.

I wanted to introduce myself here. I recognize a lot of names from COW, TLP and FL so I feel like I know most of you already.

For those of you I do not know yet, my name is Rick Theriault and I live in Londonderry, NH. I have been collecting props and gear for a number of years, but I am most concerned with gear I can actually use.

I have 5 Westeds and about 20 miscellaneous leather jackets. I have a decent A-2 goatskin, but my current favorite is an authentic leather jacket from the 1930's, complete with side straps. Indyish without being an exact copy.

I have more hats than I can count including the beloved Akubra (actually 5 of them), Optimo, the Sterling Beaver from Gladhatter, a Stetson from the 1930's and a few mongrel fedoras. The only non-fedora style hat I own is the Akubra Down Under (complete with crocodile teeth).

I am a big Van Halen fan (hence the "5150" part of my user name) and like all music except country. I play guitar (and I use this term loosely), write short stories and occasionally draw, but nowhere near as well as I used to.

For a number of years I had asthma and used an inhaler several times per day. Shortly before I turned 40, I realized that it was no longer a good idea to buy larger pants as my waistline increased and I went on the Atkins Diet and lost 20 lbs. As a result, I no longer carry an inhaler and I look forward to exercise.

I love to hike and if you spend any time in the mountains of NH, look for the short stumpy-looking guy with the big nose and the fedora. That will be me ;) Recently, I have conquered Mt. Monadnock, Mt. Cardigan, Mt. Chocorua, Arethusa Falls/Frankenstein Cliff and many others. I am occasionally into geocaching, but I am tired of finding the caches full of trinkets, nuts and bolts and such :(

Looking at the posts, I can see that some things are the same on this forum as on others. Quite the fiesty bunch here. Time for me to go and take a look around. Cheers!

Man, I have received three welcomes here in four days and they are all from people who already "know" me.

That was the most information I have ever given about myself hoping to give someone something to comment on. I guess that is what did it. Good thing I don't give up easily... I have the feeling if I put my picture up, the thread would have got locked and deleted ;)

Steve, it is good to see you here as well as many other familiar faces/names. BTW, I could use some help and illumination here (http://raven.theraider.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6468).

I have been reading the old posts, so do not be surprised if a topic that has been extinct for a good amount of time suddenly rises up from the archives of the forum.

It is good to be here. I am glad you finally got back from vacation to put in a good word for me here. Every little bit helps! It is like my first day in a new school. A few familiar faces and a lot of new ones.
