I thought it's interesting:

There you can read that a skydisc was found in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany (I live in Niedersachsen, Germany, too ^^),
dated 1600 BC.
"If the disk is authentic then it may be argued that quantitative astronomy in central Europe may possibly date back 3600 years. Egyptian representations of the sky are purely schematic at this time. ...." But, go on reading yourself. :P

Of course, the artefact's origins may not be there where it was found... like is the case with multiple "revolutionary" relic finds. Most likely those are left there by travelers. (And I'm talking about explorers from more sophisticated cultures, not little green men.)

It's good that they got the artefact back from the black market. Is it just me, or does it look like a smiley face? :D

Is it a fake? Who knows... But prehistoric Europeans were deeply into astrology - why else would they build all those stone circles?
