Hi everyone. Boy, I sure miss posting messages to all of you. In case you didn't hear about it from the IndyGear site (which is acting funny when I try to log in now), I lost my job 11/29/04. I won't go into details, but my emotions have been on an emotional roller-coaster ride since then. Also, other things have needed my urgent attention, so casual/fun web surfing has had to take a back seat while I get my affairs in order. I'm sure you all understand, being the great people you are.

I'm currently collecting unemployment and I'm looking to seriously begin looking for something full-time in March. If possible, I'd like to "be my own boss" instead, so I'm trying to drum up some jobs either doing light care of the elderly or cleaning people's homes. If this doesn't work out, I'll be entering the "official" world of work again, like I said, in March. My unemployment runs out in early June. I'm feeling okay and I'm trying to keep busy. I've been making a lot of phone calls, filling out lots of applications, going for appointments and standing in lines. I occsionally lapse into depression or anger over my job, though. After all, I was there 7 years and 8 months for friggin' cryin' out loud! That's a tiny chunk of my life that was invested there, but it's a chunk nonetheless.

I'm also looking into getting back into my writing. Even though I've been told I'm quite talented, my self-discipline about doing it sucks. It's hard to sit down and do it, even being unemployed. This is something I have to make a priority.

Well, I just wanted to update you all on myself. I'm sure some of you care about this situation of mine. I'll be getting a new computer in a few weeks, so hopefully I'll be able to be more active in this forum (or whatever Indy forum) because I really miss talking Indy shop. However, I guess I could actually view this whole unemployment thing as an adventure. It's rife with chances and risks, just like anything else in life. Life IS an adventure after all. If you don't believe me, just wait until some of you younger Indyfans learn to DRIVE. Woooo-weeee!

Signing off and keeping the spirit of Indy alive always--

Thanks John! I'm sure everything will work out. The Buffalo, NY job market sucks, unfortunately...

Until then, we're still delinquents on bicycles. :p

Anyway, I wish you luck and hope to have you back with us on a regular basis.

Hope you find something soon.

Tom Hopkins would suggest going into sales. It is a completely open field, with no income limits. You pick your yearly income by how hard you try. And according to him, you can try hard but might never succeed unless you get his book. ;)

Hey Indygirlfriend! :whip: I've been wondering how things have been going for you for a while.

I'm glad to hear that things are moving along for you. I sincerely hope that this year brings everything for you that you want it to. :)

Thanks Tenn, but sales have never been my thing. I'm not good at talking people into something.

Thanks, Canyon. I'll be okay, I'm sure.

Hope everything's copacetic with everyone here, too.

Copacetic, Nice word! I'll put that in my vocabulary to look smart at my next english class. :)

If I used that word, my English teacher would ask me what it means. :p
