?Why did it have to be snakes??

Friends have asked me why are there so many snakes in the Well of Souls. Does anyone know because I don?t?

Two words: Booby Trap. If someone were to open up the door and hop down inside of the well, they would land in a sea of snakes, some poisonous, some not.

But, John has a good question. In fact, the hissing sound when they open up the great stone sealing the well indicates that the well was pressurized and so the snakes should not have survived in the wellin the first place. However, it makes an interesting story.

That and many of the snakes that were in there are not indigenous to Egypt. Imported snakes

Maybe they are attract by the Ark. Like the rats in the Bantu Wind.
Some snakes come inside the Well, and they multiply...
