Two men and a woman were stuck in a lift during a heatwave. One of the men had three bottles of mineral water with him and the other had five. They shared the eight bottles of water equally between the three of them. Once they had been freed, the woman gave the men eight coins as payment. What is the fairest method of dividing the eight coins?

Give them the amount of coins as they gave water.

what are the eight coins worth together?

I mean are there three pennies, two nickels, a dime, and one rare Spanish gold doubloon? Or are the eight coins of equal value?

I'm sure there is a trick solution to this, and the value of the coins are meaningless.

OK, what's the trick????

The man who had 5 bottles should receive 7 coins and the man with 3 bottles should receive 1 coin. :D

Is that correct?

The woman keeps all the coins and walks away rich and alive....
