Were can you find the official movie scripts for these movies? On the web, the script for LC is the official one used for the movie (to my knowledge), but for Tod and RotLA, they are different, nonupdated versions.

Instead of having to buy them, or watch the closed caption and write down every word, are there other resources? Anywere on the net, or in a library bok somewere? Thx.

np

(which is short for no problem, but the message board requires a post of 10 characters, so you now have this inflated unnecessary explaination.) ;)

I was just able to look at the scripts. The RotLA script is the same one you can find around the net. It's an early draft or something. It's not the official one used in the movie, unless I'm just totally having delirious thoughts and thinking the movie goes another way.

A good prject could be for someone to make an accurate to the movie script for the movies (LC I think has an accurate one on the net, while ToD and RotLA on the ent are not the same as the movie).

Tell me if I'm wrong, because I very well could be!

The ToD script is a little different also. Just FYI.

There are several typs of scripts out there on the web. Which version you get, usually determines how accurate it is. The best bet is to find a "Shooting Script". You may come across "spec scripts", but not likely as those are used to pitch ideas (so if you do come across one, it's most likely damaged goods). Then keep in mind, most scripts will go through two drafts and a polish, and that is just an average.

After the polish, a script will then be sent on to the technical advisor (along with the director and the director of photography) as well as a committe of others, depending on the budget of the film, and the script is converted into what is called a "Shooting Script". Those are you best bets on the net when it comes to "finished product films" being representd on the page.

Ideally The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Blgd in L.A is open to the public, and you can view all sorts of screenplays there, on the 4th floor library. Also, UCLA has a script library, and many college libraries have at least a few, typically through the communications department.

Your last bet is to purchase a film magazine (like Premeire or American Film) and check the classifieds. They will have advert's to companies that sell screenplays in all forms...but do you homework here.

If anyone else has ideas for TIW..feel free to comment...
