When you're traveling to exotic locals, its actually a lot safer to not wear shorts.
Besides, pants are cooler.

I might have, when I was a young boy from 1 to 5 years old, and maybe a couple of times later, but other than that, I have never worn shorts in at least 8 years.
Pants are the preferred adventure wear.

I partially agree with you,TR.I think it really depends on climate and weather, but I generally prefer to wear shorts because I can move better/faster that way.

When i was in Guatemala all I would wear was pants, because none of the locals would wear pants, if you saw someone wearing shorts you knew for sure they were a tourist, and plus wearing pants protects you against so much (including insects),and no matter how hot it is you can still stand wearing them.
It looks stupid.(LINK DELETED)

Pants protect your legs against parasites (fleas, ticks, etc..).
This poor guy's legs are just about glowing. :dead:
