Anyone out there who plays DnD, what class do you think indy would be?

I think he would have to have some rogue for his knowledge of traps and high reflex save :p

What is DnD?

Attempt to look cool by feigning ignorance?

Sound it out . . . D & D . . . . Dungeons & Dragons.

Proud former player here. Although, sadly, it was so long ago that it was before 'Rogues' What is that, some sort of thief/ranger?

rogue is the new P.C. name for a thief :p

They are trying to make the classes more versatile.

Oh yeah! I remember that, my older brother used to play that when I was a kid, I loved the illistrations in the books, luckly I did not suffer from the same advirse to lilght affliction as my brother and his freinds had so I could enjoy the sunlight . . .

Actually I take that last statement back, I am only jealous that I my group of friends were in to skating and music and not DnD, we picked up more chicks then, but the DnD guys make the $$$ 20 years later, so game on I guess

I don't know what you mean when you say "adverse to light affliction"??? I was always out swimming biking and camping during those years.

Yet another vampire reference in relation to Joe??? Hmmm. Seems like a trend. http://www.indygear.com/cow/images/smiles/eusa_think.gif

Hey Joe, if you're not adverse to PC games, the Baldur's Gate games are a good way to do D&D without the hassle.

My only exposure to PC games is loading my daughter's games (Barbie Mermaid -- in my best Hannibal Lechter: 'Love those rainbow dolphins', Dr. Seuess and Little Nemo games.) I don't see how any game could capture the freedom and randomness of D&D. I wouldn't start this now but are there people that play D&D online?

Thanks for the timely topic progression.

This is attention I don't need. The member vying for true vampire status here is Colonel Vogel -- check out his member photo which I think is of Vlad the Impaler. Although Bram Stoker was also a member of the Unpopular Profession. . . . .

Well, there are plenty of MMORPGs, but I'm not an expert on D&D. My interest was very casual. I've never done any RPG stuff other than computer games. And now, time doesn't allow even that.

All right, all right... I'll put down the stake... :)

Although my knowledge of D&D is very limited, I'd also have to say Rogue.

I always saw that at my local hobby shop, but never shelled out the cash for it. I'd really like to go through and read it now, mainly because I have a hard time seeing how they will make an open ended RPG about indy. Has anyone played it, or read it that can enlighten me?

The game is not so much about Indiana Jones himself. It's intended to take place in the world of Indiana Jones.

I haven't played it, but I have the source book. It's got a lot of information about the time period, weapons, vehicles, travel, etc.

The character templates included solider, adventurer, singer, pilot, professor, and a bunch of others I'm not remembering now.

At one point the book suggests using Indiana Jones only sparingly in your adventures as a non-player character.

Thanks! That actually sounds really fun. I might have to pick up one of the books on Ebay and check it out.

Pretty much what JJ said.I don't recall there being too much insight into Indy's life or his past in any of the material that I read(which I admit was limited).I'm sure that RPG's nowadays are much more in-depth.
