I know a family who was away on vacation. A group of 13 yo. Illegal Aliens broke into the house, stole the flatscreen TV, all his guns, etc., then torched the house, burnt it to the ground, they were given a slap on the wrist and 30 days. Oh, sorry, the slap was too rough, so they just got 30 days.

I wonder how many more houses they've done that to since they got out?
If you could get a flat screen tv for free except a few days in jail, wouldn't you do it again, still smarter since your last criminal escapade?

As you are reading this, Jay, just remember that I have never argued with you, and please read this as a comment and not an attack on you.

The problem I see with this is, THE ILLEGAL ALIENS CAN FIND A JOB TWICE AS QUICK AS THE AMERICANS IN AMERICA (and no, it's not as high-paying of a job, but still a job) but these people doing this, murdering, stealing, etc. etc. have the option to work for a living instead of kill for a living.

They choose to kill, steal, etc. because they (as an illegal minority in America) can get away with it.

Some people don't have a choice. They do!!!

TennesseeR- I partially agree with you.You may be correct in saying that illegals can find jobs twice as fast as citizens,but I've not seen data on those estimates so I really cannot comment on that.However,I think that a big reason why some of these illegals find work at all is because they are willing to do jobs that many of us won't do and there are certainly a lot of employers out there(Wal-Mart comes to mind)who take advantage of these people's circumstances.

I'm not saying this is true with all minorities. Far from it in fact. I have many black friends and even they will say that there is an inherent problem with the parenting (if there are any parents present) and the media portraying Blacks as downtrodden. This is far from the case. Blacks need to get over the whole slave thing. It was hundreds of years ago. This is a thread to give condolence to two unfortunate children who were murdered and their family and friends, not to argue about racial segregation. Jay, you make like illegal immigrants are to be given the rights of all americans but notice ILLEGAL imigrants. They are not U.S. citizens and hence do not get the same rights. They are not supposed to be here in the first place. Even if they do not steal or kill, they still have no right to be here and are breaking international law. The end. On a further note, the children were going to get free plots at a cemetery when the govt. came in and said they had to pay. Banks are now taking donations for the family to pay for the plots.

Not really. I only believe that poverty does not have to lead to crime. You give these people an excuse to do what they do.

unlike you, i explain and understand. i understand that people in germany 1933 voted for hitler. that doesn't mean i think it's great. it was bull**** but it was human. if you understand, you can still critizise, but you'll never forget that you could be / have been in their place as well. as long as you can't be sure you'd be a better man, you are not to judge the people. laws are there to help a system be stable. i am in favor of punishment as it helps to support the system (i don't think capital punishment has this effect but that's not the point). but i'm not in favor of punishment for emotional reasons - revenge, justice, hate, ... . you can punish people as long as you don't believe it's just, as long as you just do it because you think it *has* to be done. that's the way i think of punishment. if a cop is a thief, i still want him to convict thieves. even though it might be regarded as "unjust". but it has to be done, for the system's sake.

but YOU on the other hand believe, that you are "right", that you "have the right" to judge. that your decisions are fair, just, ... . they aren't. and they way you deal with them makes you lose touch with reality. if you can't judge soberly, don't judge at all. you are not balancing pros and cons, you are just fighting your little personal war. that is neither "fair", nor helpful for the system. it's just your personal emotions, your "i-do-what-first-comes-to-my-mind"-attitude (that we both have witnessed a couple of times here ourselves, haven't we?).

The fact is that more blacks committ these crimes.

you know why PR-people love statistics so much? they seem to say something when they just say nothing. a statistic without a background says nothing. modify the background as you like and a statistic can say ANYTHING. one and the same statistic can prove that helicoper tours are safe and unsafe, depending on whether you divide the number of deaths by the number of helicopter passengers or by the number of tourists/travellers in general.

that was just a little example.

if most of the black people commit these crimes, this can only have two reasons.

a) the color of skin affects the personality. black skin is connected to violent/bad behavior by genetic linkage.

i don't have to add that his is highly improbable but hitler would have liked this idea.

b) blacks are the same human beings as you and me, but they are exposed to a different environment. different education, different social background (average black income is below average white), different treatment from other people.

if you choose a) i guess we can stop from here because i'm not going to argue on this level. if you choose b), you will find it hard to deny that there is something wrong with black people in your country - and that this isn't the fault of the blacks alone. because in this case the blacks would be as human as you are and if the are in SUCH a different position, this means that your country doesn't succeed in treating blacks and whites the same. it's easy for you to believe that the whites want to cooperate with the blacks in every possible way and that the only problem is that the blacks refuse to accept the peace, so to speak.

this is a unilateral view and i probably don't have to point this out in particular. the blacks aren't your problem. the community is your problem and the community consists of black AND white people. the blacks make mistakes but so do you. and as long as the blacks are way poorer than the whites are, the whites' job is to try and achieve equality. but you don't to a damn thing about it. so if you prefer to keep your negro slaves poor, don't complain if they act like poor people. you might love to believe that they simply are poor because they like it this way but this hardly qualifies as a mentally sane point of view at all.
