I don't know if anyone ever wondered about this, but I've always wondered how far Indy and Marion really went coz you see Marion the morning after in bed with her dress on the bedhead. My theory is they went all the way... What's your theory?
Actually, I happen to think that just when they were about to get into it, Katanga walked in wearing a clown's nose and a bottle of raw moonshine and made Indy drink 'til he passed out. Marion, however, drank the good captain under the table so that she had to call couple of additional crewmembers (dressed like giant bunnies) to drag the totally stoned captain out of the cabin. Marion then played with herself a little 'til she fell asleep as well.
Why do I believe this? Because when in the next scene Indy's awake, he shows no symptoms of a hangover whatsoever. With this Spielberg wanted to indicate that Indy's an extra tough guy with only Uusis going before him in an ability to stand booze.

No doubt in my mind that they did... though I don't know how they could. I'm sure they were totally exsausted. I guess a few hours sleep can work wonders, huh? ;)

Well, originally in one of the drafts, there was no truck scene and it was INDY that did the seduction!!!:p

Really? I'd like to read that draft. Know where I can take a peek at it?

I read about the draft somewhere. I think it was in the recent George Lucas bio. I can't remember the author but it's a black and silver cover with a black and white photo of Lucas directing Star Wars in Tunisia.

Thanks for thinking this topic was actually a good one. I was kinda worried that people would think less of me for posting it.

Yes, of course they did.
They went all the way...........and it was WILD!!
Use your imagination...........
That's the miracle of story telling and movie making..........
It's the scenes you don't make/write.....that are best...
the scenes that you let the audience create in their own minds...
Speaking for myself....my Indy/Marion love scene on the Bantu Wind is.........well........exciting.

Yes. very interesting question !
I was wondering that too!
I read all the books from the movie.
BLACK CAMPBELL NOVEL
They kiss, like in the movie, but it's not wrot that Indy fall asleep.
Later in the book, it is wrote that when Indy woke up, Marion is still asleep, in her white dress... not like in the movie...
MARVEL COMIC
They kiss and sudenly, the engines stop and Indy go to Katanga to see what happend.
STORYBOOK
They made nothing but speak. No kiss
ILLUSTRATED SCREENPLAY
Exactly like in the movie
So it did'nt help for know what happend...
The better way to know, it's asking to Spielberg :p

Why don't we simply ask Ford. If anyone knows, he knows what happened.

No one's bothered coz neither Ford or Spielberg are ever in a position to hear and answer Indyfans questions. Besides I must say ElodiJones, great post. I never knew that!!!
But, I must ask in the BLAKC CAMPBELL NOVEL, you mention that Indy wakes up later... Am I guessing right that you are implying that they did?;)

No, because it is writed that Marion wore always her white dress...
But in the movie she didn't.
When she wake up, she takes her dress.
So obviously she must put the dress away, at a moment... :p

I do not want to be a party pooper here but I think it is much more interesting if leave it on that they did not do it.
Becouse when you watch that scene it is much more interesting to see Ford falling a sleep practicly at the finish line then to think "he woke up after cameras stoped rolling, and everyone left home, and then it happened"
He did get a chance after that. And he probably used it very well. Did you se Marions face expresion in the last scene. She was a happy woman, and she defenetly wanted more happines.

As I read it, nothing happened... nothing at all...
