Does anyone hear happen to know how to make a torch like the one Indy uses at the beginning of Raiders and when he's trapped in the snakepit?

When Indy dumps the gas on the snakes, he ignites it with a match and takes a log and sticks it in the fire. Then it burns on the top only. I think thats how he does it.

Satipo Torch

Anyone know how to make the Satipo style torch from the opening sequence in Raiders? It looks like it is made of various pieces of bamboo with sterno or some kind of fuel in it. Any ideas?

I thought that in Raiders it was several twigs strung together. Did it just look like that?

EDIT: I just saw VPs post, I apologize for only looking at Indy Parise's.
