I've seen the covers online, but are Raiders of a Lost Art (7 pages), Inbanana Jones and the Temple of Goons (5), & Inbanana Jones and His Last Crude Days (4) posted anywhere in full? Because... I could scan and submit them. How and where, I'm not sure. These are the original black and whites. These days Mad likes to colorize old features, and will probably publish an all-Indy issue as the movie nears (if they haven't already) including scraps like this (http://www.spielbergfilms.com/indy4news022406.html) one. Suggestions?

HA! Thats great, totally brings me back to 4th or 5th grade, when I used to read MAD, I think the simpsons did a great tribute to MAD once.

Other articles they've done:
"Do-It-Yourself Indiana Jones Sequel" (March 1986)
"Suggested Titles for the Next Indiana Jones Movie" (Feb 2005)

Twice in the 90's they gathered everythng Star Wars in one issue, so hopefully they'll do the same with Indy soon.

I've got a copy of the "Suggested Titles" one. Yes, that's right. Violet Indy decided a long time ago, that MAD made more sense than Cosmopolitan. :p

one for LC? I must have missed that.
In the US the issues are #228 Jan. 1982, #250 Oct. 1984, #291 Dec. 1989.

Mort Drucker's art should look familiar. He drew the poster for American Graffiti.
And in January 1991 (http://www.dccomics.com/mad/?action=timeline): "At the first MAD art auction, long-time MAD fans Steven Spielberg and George Lucas waste a lot of money to purchase original MAD cover art spoofing many of their movies. Spielberg, who is completely out of control, also buys the cover of MAD #1."

Is the December, 1989 a cover of LC?

Does anyone know how to resize these 3 pages to the same size VP posted at? Currently they're enormous...

Just recently a Mad book was released with every joke they ever made about Star Wars. I wonder if an Indy book is following in its footsteps?

I was thinking the same thing. How cool would that be? I would think so and I will be buying that too. I really enjoy a good MAD movie parody. Their SW and X-Men ones were really awesome.

That sounds incredibly cool... I'd love to get my hands on that. Is it a BOOK or just a magazine?

... how much you wanna bet they make fun of Indy's age on the MAD cover for KOTCS?

It's a book. George Lucas does the introduction.

Here's a link to Barnes adn Noble about it:

Supposedly, there was a (fairly) recent auction of original MAD artwork with
Lucas & Spielberg in attendance and they each bought all the cover paintings
that spoofed their movies.

What a great magazine. I used to buy it religiously and had all of Don Martin's paerbacks!

"MAD" Magazine artist Al Jaffee has an upcoming Indiana Jones "Fold-In" art page in the May issue of MAD:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/30/arts/design/30genz.html?_r=1&adxnnl=1&oref=slogin&ref=arts&adxnnlx=1206828085-6dHJOhRswuIU8EjknnRz3Q

"He started work on No. 4-whatever, for the issue that goes on sale in mid-May, as he has all the others: with a rough pencil sketch. This one shows an altar scene invoking the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” movies. “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” is due out soon, and the fold-in question is, “What frightening ancient relic will be the focus of much attention and fanfare this summer?” The folded-in answer, of course, has nothing to do with Indiana Jones."

John McCain, frightening? More tacky, ageist 'humor' by Jaffee.

I like the MAD Indy self building storyboard from 1984. With different storylines, depending on the box you're reading forward. It's like:
Indiana Jones [hamlet] [a sheep ][with his grandma]...and so on :D

You know that?

- embryonic jones and the temple of womb(a mad poster)

- 10 things indiana jones hates more than snakes

The three issues of the original trilogy are really critic.

I mean they mock those movies saying they have unvelievable scenes, plot holes and loads of special effects.

Same what people say now about KOTCS....

Al Jaffee rocks. I always loved "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions". There is a video by Beck (I think) that does the fold-in thing. Anyone know what song it is?
Anyway, Saber...Hockey, Ford Mustangs, graphics, Indy? We're a match made in heaven.:p I wonder if Don Martin ever drew Indy?

Mad goes from 12 to 4 issues a year after #500 in April. It was at 8 a year from 1959-1993. Mad Kids and Mad Classics are cancelled.

Thanks Stoo! I hear Mad Classics #22 (http://www.collectmad.com/usacoversite/specials/usasp22n.htm) from July 2008 reprints MAD's Do-It-Yourself "Indiana Jones" Sequel. Anyone have it? For scenarios like (http://www.indyfan.com/vault/forum/messages/82266.html),
Indiana Jones-makes fun of-a small Oriental boy-on the Merv Griffen show-when an evil holy man viciously snaps his suspenders.-Using his gun,-he beats up a man twice his size-but gets hit on the head.-Since the movie is almost over,-Indy gets the treasure, the girl and a painful rash-The End (Until next sequel!).
