From the Raiders script:
Marion throws down the empty submachine gun and moves through the flames to the center of the bar where she left the box with the five grand. She finds the remains of the box and its contents: a shapeless pile of ash and charred wood. MARION: Unbelievable!

I always thought Marion didn't try very hard to retrieve the cash. Adjusted for inflation, five grand would be $67,341.12! During the Great Depression! Probably at taxpayers expense, through the museum! :mad:

Well, you never did see her go after the money in the final cut of the sequence. Besides, she was in a God forsaken frozen hellhole! Why wouldn't she go after the money and use it to get back to the US? On the other hand, with the money Indy was giving her, she was already going back to the US and didn't have to worry about the money.

That reminds me... a few years ago I posted a link to a $5000 Paypal donation to the Raven. Where is that thread... was it deleted? Oh well.
