I have to learn to speak German very quickly. I will spend next six months in Germany. I will go there as a part of some college student exchange program. The problem is that classes will be mostly in German and I do not speak the language.
What is the best way to learn it?
Here are some of my suggestions:
- reading school textbooks made for learning that language,
- finding someone who speaks the language and making him teach you by talking to you in that language,
- online chat with someone whose first language is that particular language,
- going to the country where that language is spoken and learning it there as a need to comunicate.

My idea of good learning technique is Antonio Banderas's technique in the movie 13th warior. I hope you know what I mean.
