Well, it is gtting close, you know ya' have to plan these things early. THe gf asked what we were going to do for NYE07, and I thought to my self, "Dang, is it that clsoe al ready?" Last year we just went to the Del in San Diego for the three day weekend, what are the Raven folk planning to or what have you done in the past. Really, I am looking for ideas!

I'm usually (The last 15 years or so) gigging on NYE, so to me it's just another work night, only I HAVE to sing Auld Lang Syne.....

It is weird after working as a sommelier in a fancy restuarant for 8 years, and having to work the NYE party, I thought that i woudl never want to actually d something for NYE, but we had so much fun last year that I am surprised to actaully be looking forward to it. I am not a fan of crowded parties or huge dinners, but always looking for something fun or interesting to do.

If anybody spends their new years on the raven or any message board I think they need to get some friends...or a lot more alcohol.

For the last thirteen years, my husband and I and our best friends (who finally got married last year after ten years of engagement) usually get together (either we go up there or they come down here..kids and all), either watch unlimited movies and have pizza, or go to one of the small hick bars in either town (the oldest out of all kids is 17). Last year, we took over the livingroom tv set with popcorn and pizza and wine coolers while all the kids hand the family room playing video games and listening to the radio. This year we're all heading to Lake Geneva for a New Year vacation (ice fishing anyone?).

If any of you ever have a teenage daughter, what ever you do, don't make her spend New Year's in the kids room of a nightclub! I spent four of my New Years doing that! The best New Year for me was the 1999-2000. We spent the night at South Bank Parklands in Brisbane, swimming at the artificial beach, eating ice creams, listening to a band and watching the fireworks. Another good one was last year, we spent it with a weekend at the casino and went to a Vegas style show.

I don't remember any particularly good New Year celebrations. I can tell you the most impossible to remember was '05. I was watching Conan O'Brien with my sister and her boyfriend. Janko and I got to work on a bottle of cognac and didn't stop drinking until the bottle was empty and throw in a little whiskey.... I remember going upstairs after Conan was over and I went on the roof and that's it. The day after was certainly memorable. I'll never drink cognac again.
I never plan that far ahead. I have no idea what I'll be doing this New Year's Eve.

We don't do anything for New Years'. Just the same old thing. Of course, I like watching the ball in New York drop at midnight, but besides that...
