Also…

“The object in question is the Antikythera, a clock-like pile of dials and levers that was supposedly invented and made by the genius second-century Greek mathematician Archimedes”

So now that the reviews have made it clear that Indy's marriage to Marion fell apart, does that change our feeling on whether or not we'll see her in the movie?
For me, it changes it slightly in that I originally thought she might be at his retirement party, but that doesn't seem at all likely now.
On the other hand, I still think it's possible that she'll show up at the end of the movie since the reviews talked about Indy having regrets over how he dealt with his family. So Marion reappearing in his life at the end would be a way to resolve that, I guess (though it could feel a bit too much like a retread of a character arc that was already done in KOTCS.)

I haven't seen any of the trailers so I don't know if what I'm about to say is true, but doesn't Indy wear a ring in the trailers?
Also didn't Empire state earlier this year that Indy and Marion are still married?
Having them divorce would be really stupid imo since they just got married in the previous movie and as you said it'd be literally the same character arc as KOTCS.

So it sounds like they’re separated but are together by the end? I guess life finds a way. You can’t detach the 2 of them

Technically, they aren't divorced, but going through one. And it's not a high stakes guess to say that it's going to be better by the end.

I gotta say, from the Empire article it really seems like they’re suggesting Indy might choose to stay in the past at the end of the movie :-/

The thing I’ve been a bit nervous about is them making Indy and Marion separated again. I just feel the ending of Skull, regardless of what people make of it as a whole, does bring it to a nice closure. Having them split just to get back together…again feels a bit redundant. Ah well.

Seems like that’s what happens.
That makes no sense at all in my eyes.

Of course it's great to put an archaeologist in the past and let him do what he loves.

But in that case, Indy would spend the rest of his life destroying evidence of himself and time travel.

As soon as wreckage is found, or just a modern belt buckle, it would change the focus on history in a way that no scholar could be happy with.

It would no longer be about ancient culture, but how the hell the World War II bomber got there.
