So digging this old thread up to ask a question. Does anyone have any of the die-cut magnets from this set? I am looking for #9 Elsa Schneider I have all of the others and extras of most of them.
I enjoyed reading your entire post and I think you inadvertently made a strong case for why Lucas wanted to be put on the film as an Executive Producer. This film continued his franchise in a direction he approved of something Disney failed to do with Star Wars.
Might be a sign that more people are discovering it now that access has gotten so easy and convenient at home. I could see consumers renting it digitally or watching on Disney + and then deciding to pick up a physical copy.
The only time I recall an adjustment was after The Last Jedi came out. I think that was when they added the verified audience score. Could be wrong.
Concerning Indy I don’t think anything was changed. Evidence of this is how members of this community were able to raise the critics score from...
I might actually prefer the Disney version of the art. The main thing that edges it towards Disney's meddling are the changes to Indy and his Whip and that is the focal point. Removing the gun though was just dumb and so Disney.
Outside of the art I certainly prefer the more traditional title...
I am puzzled by all of this DoD lack of a holstered gun talk. In KOTCS he had his gun until he was captured at the cemetery. He never used it except to scare off a cemetery guard. After that when he could have easily acquired a gun or rifle he neglects to do so opting to punch people instead...
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was the equivalent of Indiana Jones searching for the Holy Grail again. I really appreciate that we got something different to chase down in Dial.
Well KK didn’t ruin Star Wars single-handedly. She had a lot of help and it started with Bob Iger. He simply lied to Lucas about his intentions concerning his involvement post purchase. He also pushed for JJ and that got the ball rolling.
Disney bought Star Wars and then threw out the most...
Well he does do something that he hadn’t in KOTCS. He shoots people with a gun.
I do miss the traditional fist fight the other four films had. This one makes it obvious that isn’t in the cards though.
I do take issue with cutting scenes that have Indy doing Indy things. I get the need for pacing and agree with most of what Mangold has posted today about this film. Maybe I would agree that the scene should have gone once I have seen it but I would sacrifice pacing for another scene of Indy...
Could one go from watching Raiders and jump straight to Dial? There isn’t anything you need from the other films to understand what is going on. One would just assume Indy and Marion got married after Raiders and had a kid who died. Maybe I am missing something.
I think there is a good chance that a better film can be made from what was shot on DoD. Maybe it is a shorter film or maybe it is a longer film. But I agree that it feels like it is there.
KOTCS would probably require additional footage not captured at the time the film was in front of the...
