Any rate, there's no chance National Treasure will feature the trailer. I will eat my hat if I'm wrong.

Did you ever see Davy Crockett and the River Pirates? It's the only time on film I've ever seen a character eat a hat. Pride of the Yankees, too. Kinda random, but if you are wrong, maybe you can make a gif of it and post it, save your hat for the May premiere. :p

Check out a short little film called Werner Herzog Eats His Shoes.

Unlike Davy Crockett... this was real footage. Herzog made a bet to a friend, his friend won. He publicly ate his hard leather shoes boiled and served with broth. :)

Great documentary. :)

I have a feeling George Lucas saying the trailer would be around by Thanksgiving was just him talking.

The article said by Christmas, not Thanksgiving. Check the calendar on the Raider's main page.

I'm not blind. I know what the article said. The fact is both are USA Today articles and both do not refer to an actual quote by George Lucas. The calender date on the main page means nothing. We have no definitive idea when this thing will be released.

Lucas' quote was taken out of context. He actually referred to Jedi Christmas, which, as everyone knows, is in April.....

How is it any less credible if they don't put what he said in quotation marks?

Either way, they are claiming to have gotten information from him and are passing it on to the reader. Why would they put that in there if he didn't say it? Just for ****s and giggles? Come on.

I think it's more an editorial issue than anything, or trying to adhere to the AP format...it probably just flowed better to reference what he said in the third person rather than actually quoting it.

Either of us could easily find many more examples of third person quoting in interviews and articles, that *have* turned out to be true. You're really grasping at straws here.

ok it's midnight....Thanksgiving.....what are the chances of the trailer being released today?

Reason to believe Indy IV teaser will be in National Treasure 2.

-Will be released Dec. 21 2007 (days before X-mas).
-Rated PG and has A LOT of Indy influences, meaning Indy fans like us will want to see this film because of its almost Indy feel, in other words, a good target audience.
-A Disney film (remember Revenge of the Sith? Teaser was attached to The Incredibles (Disney/Pixar).

I hope I'm right. :gun:

Reasons to believe National Treasure 2 is not worthy of having the Indy 4 trailer attached to it:

-Its a blatant ripoff of Indiana Jones.
-No one will care about the National Treasure movies in 5 years.
-Nic Cage's character will never even come close to achieving the worldwide iconic status of Indiana Jones.
-Its a blatant ripoff of Indiana Jones.

I think it's worthy. I don't care if it's a ripoff, at least it's a good one at that. It matters that Indy will attract some of the same audience, and if this movie does as well as the first, it will be the highest grossing movie that will still come out this year. I really can't think of a better movie for it to come out will that's coming up.

Thanks loganbush!;)

Agree with Dr. Sartorius. National Treasure is really a blatant, useless, imitational, flat movie... blah.

Thanks loganbush!

Now watch it come out with some obscure movie. :D
