KotCS comic adaptation
![]() throwmetheidol.com have unearthed the cover! Flippin' sweet!! |
Thanks metalinvader!
|
Great looking cover. I wish we could get a bigger version...
|
Cool!
Make it bigger  Make it bigger  |
Wow!... Shia and the sword, seems it will be a pretty iconic image in the story :whip:
And Indy looks very good.... with South Americas silhouette in the background? |
This is Awesome!!
|
I don't know... it doesn't convince me... I'll wait to see the full dimension. The style reminds me too much the style of the covers for the last star wars comics, that I don't appreciate too much. That Shia with the sword seems a jedi knight! eheheh ;)

That cover was done by Steve Anderson. He does computer photo collages. He has done work for MANY Star Wars products. I checked his website and he recently added an Indiana Jones section to his portfolio. It says he is be adding 10 images from Indy IV soon! Surprisingly he does not have that above image on his own site yet. |

Actually part of the picture is on his site: http://www.steveandersondesign.com/folio.htm |
Maybe he'll fill up the painting with a few other character or with some more background elements that will render it more appealing to my (personal) taste... anyway regarding its starwars works, some of them are very impressive, others I like less, but, as I said, it's a matter of tastes. In every case I would prefere something more classic.. preferibly not photo-based.

:D
That look on Indy's face is the most Indyish thing I've seen since marketing for this film has begun*. So why is this shot on a comic book cover and not right over at the official website? (Alright, maybe it will be there...some time... The thing is just that I like this single shot of him even more than the three promotional shots released earlier...) *You know...we've seen the whip, hat, the classroom he teaches in...we've seen it all. But what I see in this shot is Indy's heart and soul. He looks older and weary but young at heart, cool but in awe of something...and in his eyes the look of an educated ...swashbuckling raider of things lost... btw: thanks Avilos and Sartorius for all the additional information. |

From his website... ![]() And a little photoshopping reveals this hidden Indy... :) ![]() |

We already saw that look and that eyes... it seems to be taken from the part of the movie shot in Hawaii.. I'm pretty sure that that particular expression is the one Indy has in the video of the first footage (called "Indiana Jones Comicon Preview", released on 7.27.07 in the official site), when he seats with Shia on what seems to be a truck or something. It's probably been used a photo on location of the same scene. |

It's not bad, but I don't like it... I'm very affectionated to the old Hugh Fleming covers for the Dark Horse Indy saga. |
Quote:
Oh man, I love it. It reminds me a lot of Raiders Indy. And the skulls in the background are chilling. |
Quote:
mmmhhh.....:) ...you could be right. They're at least very similar *lol* As far as the background of his announcement is concerned...isn't that obviously Indy from Raiders? (Good eye, btw, ResidentAlien!) |

Purely by accident. Had my laptop in my lap, I shifted position, the screen tilted back and the image popped out. All I had to do was alter the brightness and the contrast. :) |
Jeez, he's the spitting image of George W in that picture.......
|
If you want your own version of thios image...Go to your local Comic book store and buy a copie of the new Previews order book that cam out last fri....There is a full page add of this image in there.
|
I'm confused, the second picture (the one where the white was removed) is part of the same comic cover as the first? They don't look the same!
The first one looks pretty cool, but it's just too darn small to see the detail in it. |
Quote:
No those are two different images. He is doing 10 classic Indy images and 7 for the new movie. |
Quote:
anyway im not much of a comic book person so i dont expect to be getting one but its still good looking. |

Any Ravener near a comic book store and a scanner? |

Cover for Dark Horse KOTCS adaptation!
Throwmetheidol has posted an image of the cover art for the upcoming KOTCS comic adaptation from Dark Horse:
![]() Looks pretty cool. Is Mutt holding a sword? |
Nice find! Thank for the peek!:D

:D :D :D :D damn! that made my day!!! :D :D |

I agree! Indy comic book covers, novels, movie posters, etc., should all be hand painted works of art. Something is seriously lost in my opinion with photo shop. The whole romantic side of the Indiana Jones movies reflecting back to the serials of the 30's or 50's( in the case of KotCS), just flies out the window with a photo shop collage. Give me a Struzan, Dorman, or Amstel work of art any day over photo shop! |

Awesome!!! Thanks for linking the pics! Great posters here. Any word if the Comic Adaptaion is getting 4 issues or is it only being released as a trade? :gun: :gun: :gun: |
hands down i agree when i think indiana jones i think of all those great art works
thats one of many things that make these movies so so cool |

Previews claims it's 96 pages @ a 2.99 cover price. 96 pages seems about right for a 1 issue movie adaption. |
Quote:
Heh. Most comics are 18-25 pages. At about 22 pages each, that's right about perfect for 4 issues and 1 trade paperback. |
Love the new cover! Shia looks awesome with that sword! They both look like they're gonna kick some butt!
|
Quote:
That's the funniest damn thing I've seen (or read actually) all dayyy! LOL!! :D |
I just hope the movie isn't Shia LeBouf and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, guest starring Indiana Jones.

Amen to that brother. ... why am I talking like Hulk Hogan? |
Quote:
Well, the animated banner above the page at least allow us to have a peek to the bigger dimension version of the cover. I confirm my opinion... I find it poor. |
Ah...I checked to see if anyone had posted this already, alas, I fear to tred in the SPOILERS section:eek: Is this image considered spoiler material??? If so, I heartily apologize. If not, it is here for my fellow spoiler avoiders to enjoy.

Nice catch didn't see that.Personally,I think it's pretty cool! |
The Raider has posted a bigger picture of the comic cover!
![]() Notice the switch blade in Mutt's left hand! |
So Shia's in the foreground with a weapon while Indy lounges in the background. I was dismissed on this very forum a while back for suggesting that La Beouf will gradually dominate this movie. Well, this picture is further evidence of the takeover.
I am becoming deeply afraid for this film. |
